all ya gotta do is go to the gatherer, and then search standard legal merfolk with a cmc of 1. the best one is Mist-Cloaked Herald

I disagree that Mist-Cloaked Herald is the best Merfolk 1 drop.
Sure it is unblockable, but 1 damage per Turn as opposed to using Merfolk that pump themselves and each other up, is far more likely to net you the game.
