Spirits?

Standard Deck Help forum

I'm not usually big on Standard, but after running a U/W Spirits deck in prerelease I'm toying with the idea of trying to do something like that in Standard just for fun.

Some kind of a tempo deck. Disruption and evasive creatures with some nice tribal synergies. Control decks bore me. Disruptive aggro decks and tribal decks really hold my interest though.

I'm interested if anyone thinks this is worth trying or has ideas on how to do it. If so, I might throw together a list I can take to FNMs now and then.

Thanks, I'll have a look.

Right now the main problems I see are:

  • Allocation of resources: it's difficult to play threats while having enough mana to play instants. With Rattlechains on the board things would be much easier, but I can't just mulligan until I get one.
  • Turning on delirium: Hard to do in these colors without falling behind on board. Sorceries are awkward in this. I can use Stasis Snare to get some enchantments, I guess.
  • Limited removal options: A lot of removal in Standard (at least in these colors) seems narrow or inefficient.

Some of this might be because I tend to think of things from the perspective of a Modern player, though.

I kind of started working on a list, at least:
