Looking to build a standard deck with commons only for a pauper tournament I am in. Any help would be appreciated. I am a fan of control or combo so those would be preferred, but I'm willing to try out anything.

Control might not be that hard to build. Your counter spells at common are Bone to Ash, Calculated Dismissal, Contradict, Deny Existence, Dispel, and Negate. Card draw would be stuff like Anticipate and Comparative Analysis. You could add a second color for some removal and fix with Evolving Wilds. The second color would be your choice.
