Standard Legality of Speed vs. Cunning?

I've noticed on my Mardu deck builds that cards from the Duel Deck: Speed vs. Cunning (namely Banefire and Reckless Abandon) are being flagged as "not Standard legal". I don't get this, as my deck (Mardu Dragonborn) also includes cards from Theros, which was released before Speed vs. Cunning, and they are apparently still Standard legal. So why are those cards from DDN/SVC not Standard legal?

Also for alternate art Arcanis the Omnipotent. That's what they're most important for.

canterlotguardian Oh, yeah! And the alternate art for Zurgo Helmsmasher, which is epic :D (vs. the boring Zurgo Helmsmasher)

Only expansion (block) sets and core sets affect standard. Supplemental products (Duel Decks, From the Vault, Commander, Modern Masters, etc.) do not cause cards to become legal in standard. Currently, cards from Theros, Born of the Gods, Journey into Nyx, Magic 2015 Core Set, Khans of Tarkir, Fate Reforged, and Dragons of Tarkir are legal in standard. When Magic Origins is released (next month), it will join the list of standard legal sets. When Battle for Zendikar is released (in October), M15 and Theros block will rotate out, leaving Khans of Tarkir, Fate Reforged, Dragons of Tarkir, Magic Origins, and Battle for Zendikar as the only standard legal sets. For more information on the standard format, see this page.

The cards in the Duel decks can come from any set, so most of them are not legal in Standard. A few of them are though, as you've noticed. The Duel decks themselves are probably Legacy/Vintage legal, but they can't compete in those formats. They're meant for fun.
