Standard Tokens Decks (That aren't G/W)
Standard Deck Help forum

I really love playing tokens. I have been playing a really fun Thopter deck since OGW that will rotate this fall. It has consistently been one of my favorite decks to play since I started playing MTG (Here's hoping that Thopters make a comeback in Kaladesh!). With that said, I would like to start a non G/W tokens thread for others to get ideas and help fellow Token lovers in order to build some fun (and hopefully competitive) brews that can potentially push G/W as the deck to beat in the format. Nothing against G/W, it is an amazing deck, I am just looking to bring some diversity to the top decks in the format.
Cheers and Happy Brewing!

It's not an official deck on this site, but I did make a U/B Zombie standard deck at the prerelease for SOI; bunch of tokens from Gisa's Bidding and Rise from the Tides. It works 90% of the time, although there were decks that just ate it up, like this B/G Delirium deck with a playset of Soul Swallower. Just a thought, and hope this inspires you to some degree, if not completely!

Thanks for the comment 20IzzetEngineer00! I actually made a mono-blue tokens deck that works off shock value and doesn't work as well if your opponent is prepared for it or against weenie decks that are really fast. It uses Brain in a Jar a bunch of sorcery and instant spells and Rise from the Tides. It is semi based on mono blue prison. Certainly not unbeatable by any stretch but super fun to play when it works and you can put upwards of 20-25 zombies out. Let me know what you think.
I promise I'll stop posting my decks after this

It's a decent deck! I would suggest some creatures that allow you to build off of the spell casting, such as Niblis of Frost or Niblis of Dusk. It's not a populate deck, but it's a deck that I think that could inspire you in any way you deem appropriate. Let me know what you think of it.

Cragon18,
Thanks tons for starting up a Token thread! I love Token decks as well ... I ran 1/1 Thopters in OGW, 2/2 Wolfs in SOI, and I'm not sure what yet in EMN. Wolves again? Clues maybe? Hmmm ...
Here are my favorite brews so far this season; thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Thanks for stopping by and posting your lists clayperce! Your decks look super fun to play. I commented on both of your decks already.
I am running Thopters, Wolves, Humans (and I guess Eldrazi)?? No clues, so I will need to add that so that I have more token types represented :) I could potentially work in Zombies and Angels somehow too. Moar Tokens!!
Question for you clayperce and 20IzzetEngineer00 and the other Token builders out there. What are your responses to Declaration in Stone, Virulent Plague and board clears such as Languish. These are, by far, the worst cards for any Token deck. You could obviously board some artifact/enchantment hate such as Natural State or Display of Dominance for dealing with Virulent Plague. My only thought for Declaration in Stone would be to board in Evolutionary Leap to sac your creature and remove the target of the spell. Any other thoughts or ways to deal with board clears or the other spells above?? I look forward to your thoughts!

I'm relatively new to attempting decks involving tokens, and this is a stretch, but my uncle used to run a Dragon populate deck and threw in Archetype of Endurance to give all his Dragons hexproof. for a cheaper method, that would require some thought. Archetype of Endurance needs a cheaper CMC replacement because it costs 6.

- I like Toughness pumps for Languish and the like. My favorites in Green: Vines of the Recluse, Shape the Sands, and +1/+1 counters from Nissa, Voice of Zendikar, Earthen Arms, and Lead by Example. In Blue I like Glint. And there are of course all sorts of Artifact buffs.
- Sac' outlets are nice for sure, and Eldritch Evolution looks to be another good option.
- I don't really worry about Declaration in Stone much, since we get a bunch of Clues for it. Counterspells I guess, if you're in Blue.
Hope this helps!

While neither of these are competitive, here are my two token decks that I have come up with. My Thopter deck has not been updated for EMN, but there aren't a ton of cards that I can think to add that would go with the theme. The second is based around Hanweir Garrison, since I enjoyed it so much at the prerelease. Let me know what you think and feel free to offer suggestions!
