This is the deck I used for last Standard, and it did fairly well. Now that Amonkhet is around the corner I am at a loss of how to enhance this deck with the newer cards.

I am also thinking about either making this zombie or control, or keep it control.

What do you guys think?

Why not esper control? Add in blue for counter magic and let's be honest Torrential Gearhulk is gonna make this deck killer.

Esper control, be rid of stasis snares for the most part add counters and more practical removal, lean less on anguished and a little bit on cast out up the mainboard gideon count lower the soring count and add 2 oath of lili, spell queller as well as torrential will help you provide effective threats to pressure your opponents with and with blue comes awesome draw power in the form of glimmer and anticipate not sure how effective pull from tommorow will be but im sure nothing more than a 1 of will be necessary, the new set also brings censor and essence scatter, and the board wipe Dusk to Dawn, essentially im not saying esper is gnna be topping at all the grand prixs but it does have enough ground work to not go down like a bitch but if you are adamant about Orzhov id say go for mid range taking advantage of cards like gifted aetherborn and ayli who will pretty much always take a card with them to grave and help gideon win u the game, as well as gisela and bruna and of course by extension lancers and thalia essentially eldritch moon angel control but lower to the ground with an interactive creature suite to make up for the loss of some black and white removal

I'll take a look at it.

I realised too late that I weakened my deck last season by running Fumigate in the Sideboard, instead of Yahenni's Expertise.

There should be quite a few decks in Amonkhet that will be running Minotaurs, Zombies, and Humans, so I think Yahenni's Expertise will be quite important.

Iffy I enjoy playing control; so I want to leave it as a control deck.

Dusk to Dawn really interests me, and I can combo it off with Kalitis, weaken him with Lili; drop dusk; blow my opponent's creatures away and get a ton of zombies.

Going Esper is a curious but attractive idea. I do have a single Torrental, and I can likely get more easily.

I would also put Cast Out somewhere in the mix.

We've been playing with it instead of Stasis Snare.

Extra chance to take out Gideons? YES PLEASE.

I run a similar build mostly minor variations in quantities.

First I found I needed more lands.

I actually run a single Quarantine Field but will replace that with Cast Out. It was not ideal but I found that Anguished Unmaking was not enough in main for noncreature removal.

I dropped the Transgress the Mind from the main for Murder. Too many decks where i felt like I was getting an insignificant card.

Obviously looking at Never over Ruinous Path as the awaken is rarely relevant.

Surprised not to see Ob Nixilis Reignited in your build. Huge for card draw and a nasty finisher.

Love the deck.
