Standard Deck Help forum

I'm currently testing a W/G/R renown aggro deck based around some renowned one drops such as Honored Hierarch and Goblin Glory Chaser with other larger finishers and enchantments to make my smaller renowns a bigger value. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Honestly unless this is being done for reasons of budget or theme just don't do it.

Renowned is a terrible mechanic that has a high cost to pull of with a relatively low reward. If your going second chances are that you will never renown the creatures you want, when you want. Going first and you can still struggle

Honestly it is a theme, and the way I have renowned geared with back up cards in my deck the creatures usually will get through for damage, trigger, and bulk up to bigger creatures. It works fairly effectively with a simple strategy and cost-efficient cards. I'm mainly looking for advice on how to fine-tune the strategy over all, and also whether the deck would be more effective either going for W/R or W/G renown instead of three color.

Okay I understand where you are coming from then.

My advice than is add some instant creature removal. Your playing a small creature aggro game, you need at least some removal for an opponenets big crature. A lot of 4/4 for 3 mana these days and better. You have ways to tap down defenders or bypass them with menace but what will you do against a 4/4 or higher swinging at you? White has great options, Valorous Stance, Stasis Snare, Suspension Field. Currently your best bet is dragons mode of Citadel Siege

My experience is that giving flying with Abzan Falconer is more effective with small creatures than giving trample with Tuskguard Captain.

Playing 3 colours is not a huge problem these days. The only exception in your deck right now is Consul's Lieutenant which pretty much means its the only thing you can cast on turn 2 or you have to cast it on turn 3 or later because of its double splash.

Im not sure sword of the animist is needed or is right for this deck. You have a low mana curve, only one low costed creature with a double splash and now landfall. Think there are bette uses for its slots.

Honestly I think I may add some Pacifism and Valorous Stance , take out the two swords and the two tuskguards, and remove the lieutenants for a couple of falconers so their double white cost doesn't slow me too much. Thanks for the advice!
