What's a good deck?

Standard Deck Help forum

I've been out of Standard for while, the last deck I played was a G/W brew with THS-KTK. I want to get back into Standard, as that's what all of the local FNMs are, and I want to be competitive at it. I just started working, so, money is slowly becoming a non-issue.

I'm not looking to invest a fortune into Standard. My budget is something like $250 on a deck that doesn't lose much after rotation.

Atarka Red is still fairly cheap even tho it uses a bunch of fetches, and its quite the competitive deck.

White Weenie is looking good right now. All you need are plains, cheapest mana base ever. All of the cards are pretty cheap too, the most expensive card being Kytheon, Hero of Akros  Flip.

SnoopDogge I actually have all 8 of the required fetches for Atarka Red.

This isn't mine, but it's a pretty good example of where to start: The Inevitable Return of the Great White Weenie

If money is no object, you could try splashing a color for more utility, as well as adding some Gideon, Ally of Zendikar. But you can definitely win an FNM with the deck as it is.

I like it. I have Windswept Heaths already to add in as well. So, that's a bonus.

Maybe you could take a look at the GW Megamorph strategy that just won the SCGOpen in Atlanta.

Doesn't that deck cost a fortune though? Like, upwards of $325?
