A Dragonshift deck in standard?

I like to build fun, semi-competitive budget decks that can to alright at FNMs. I've always wanted to feature Dragonshift , but I'm unsure how to build around it. All I've got is that Young Pyromancer will be in the deck. Any ideas? ((Not sure if this goes in the deck help forum)).

Just going the 'instants and sorceries' matter deck with that as a finisher is pretty alright. Things like Goblin Electromancer , Young Pyromancer , Nivix Cyclops , Spellheart Chimera , Guttersnipe and the like. The fun stuff is the layering you get from casting Dragonshift and triggering things like Nivix Cyclops 's ability which leaves you with a 7/4 flying or better. Good times.

Nivix Cyclops + Armed + Dragonshift can make for a funny one-shot combo deck.

Dritz has the general idea I went with. I was running something of the sort before Innistrad block rotated out. Faithless Looting and Think Twice were great for rifling through the deck and triggering Young Pyromancer and/or Nivix Cyclops .

Pairing up Artful Dodge or Dragonshift with Armed / Dangerous was good for one-swing kills with the Cyclops. Or Goblin Electromancer would help bring costs down to overload Dragonshift on all the tokens.

Because Dragonshift Should be Competitive...meh I threw it together. I wasn't a fan of the Young Pyromancer route.

Young Pyromancer + Master of Waves = larger Elemental tokens.

Using Molten Birth and control spells for keeping a good board state, while generating tokens.

Finally, Dragonshift for the 4/4 flying Alpha Strike.... being 7 mana for the overload, means that this will have to be a control(ish) build... which makes sense, as you want to be generating tokens with Young Pyromancer

Some people might say to use Guttersnipe , but I think that's a different build all together. - He should be played with Satyr Firedancer and a lot of burn to the face.

They way I got it to work was mostly in combo form. I ran it in a RUG defender ramp deck that could turn all of those defenders into 4/4 flying dragons and attack for lethal in one turn.

Sylvan Caryatid , Axebane Guardian , etc until I had enough for game on board. Usually I would have to use the rampers to produce the mana for overload, and then save my lands for countermagic

It was only as a 1 of however, but other ways I would win were with Colossus of Akros . I then started splashing black for Rakdos's Return , Phenax, God of Deception , and Pontiff of Blight
