A rogue card, or just not quite good?

Just curious as to why you don't see many people playing Liliana's Reaver . Seems like a pretty good creature, so i'm just wondering. Are there better alternatives? Does he play a role people don't need?

He shares a mana cost slot with Desecration Demon . Most black decks will prefer the Demon's ability since it's removal. And in G/B, Reaper of the Wilds has psuedo-evasion to be played with the Demon.

compared to the ladder, he's fairly easy to remove with the 3 toughness, and just isnt' as good of an option. could be used for a budget mono black? or even casually he's not bad.

I feel that if it was a 3/4 or had pro, intimidate, hexproof, ect. then it would see more play.

The problem is not the competition. If no other black 4 drops existed, he would still not see play. The problem is that he dies to Lightning Strike , and gets quickly by things like Polukranos, Master of Waves , Ember Swallower , etc.

sorry, I meant "quickly outclassed," not just "quickly"

if Desecration Demon didn't exist, im sure Liliana's Reaver would get more attention.
