Abzan Midrange in Fate Reforged

Let's get this out of the way first; from my first impressions, Fate Reforged is a set that will really help Mardu and Jeskai, but I don't think it brings a lot to the table for Abzan Midrange. Warden of the First Tree could be viable, though I see that in more of an Abzan aggro build right now. The one card I will at least be sideboarding is Valorous Stance. First opinions are that both choices are very viable against the mirror, killing a rhino, courser, wingmate roc is huge, and it also fizzles downfall, cut, and itself. Thoughts on other cards that could be used in Abzan Midrange?

Just wondering, what do you believe is good for mardu in this set? I run mardu midrange myself, and i cant see myself replacing any cards i currently run with any coming out in frf.

@Dalektable: Not even Brutal Hordechief? He seems pretty sick for any Mardu deck save control variants.

Yananas Four mana for a 3/3 is pretty eh. I cant see myself being happy to see it as often as im not. Plus, I'd rather see Butcher of the Horde every time. It seems borderline playable...if it was a 3/4 that would be a lot better. But standard has a high concentration of simply great cards, so the competition is high for deck slots.

@Dalektable: Ah, I see. Somehow he registered as 4/4 in my head. Too bad, his abilities seem nuts.

i know some lists play duneblast and Ugin, the Spirit Dragon could be a replacement for that

HerderOfNerf Does no one see Temur Sabertooth in abzan midrange. It saves your rhinos makes Sylvan Caryatid useful late game. It also sacks in place of Siege Rhino from crackling doom. I think he and rhinos are best buds.

Fair point, Temur Sabertooth is a good idea, you can return Siege Rhino to hand, then play it again. Also if any of your creatures are being targeted by removal, that could be annoying, but if he gets targeted then he is gone. Brutal Hordechief, is actually a great idea for Abzan Midrange, I have got a Abzan Midrange Deck, I'm adding in 2 Brutal Hordechief, controlling how creatures block and how damage is assigned is overpowered, along with it's first ability, so what if it's a 3/3 for 4, my deck runs enough removal, and strong cheap creatures like Fleecemane Lion, and Siege Rhino. Also, so what if he is easily subject for removal, it can bait out things like Lightning Strike, Stoke the Flames and other removal spells.
I rest my case

Also ugin is way too late game, I can't see any non control decks running it.

Elite Scaleguard has potential. Heroic/bolster gets a nice late game card that eliminates blockers for game ending swings.

I have found running Tasigur, the Golden Fang is an absolute must. I'm running 2 of him main board no hord chiefs. the deck ends up being 10 creatures the rest spells and planeswalkers including 1 ugin. This deck is so strong mid to late game even against great late game decks ugin is a game changer.
