I am wondering where people are standing on this, is more card advantage better than being able to cast two spells in a turn?

Depends on the deck. For UB control, I would say general card draw like ingenuity is better. For a tempo oriented build, the lower cost of anticipate is better. What are you trying to put it in?

I actually like anticipate better in a UB shell only because it's cheaper and I can still counter/kill with the card advantage EoT unlike ingenuity where it's either counter or cast ingenuity. Also anticipate dodges disdainful stroke

They are two very different cards. Jace's Ingenuity is card advantage and Anticipate is a cantrip. Most decks will want the card advantage. While something like a combo deck is fine taking a turn off or using part of its turn to look for a specific card.

dan8080 Anticipate only replaces itself. It's not card advantage.

Control decks will want Jace's Ingenuity, because card advantage is important and every card in their deck is an answer. Aggressive decks and the janky combo decks will want Anticipate, because they are looking for specific cards that will let them win.

This is the deck im debating it for, its mostly control but certainly fairly tempo as well Bant Tempo/Control (DTK). My current thinking is that Anticipate would be better than Jace's Ingenuity as i can search 3 cards deep for the relevant counter/whatever and still be able to cast it

For that deck, I'd just cut a land or two and put in Anticipates instead. 27 lands is a bit too much, you only really need 25.
