So I have been thinking of a Mono-White Mid-Range build and looking at the spoilers from BNG, I don't see this not being played. Having a Mono-White Devotion deck seems very viable, and I feel it could be really strong. What are everyone's thoughts on this?

Unless there is another card printed that contains both the word "Devotion" in its rules text, and is white, I don't think it will be all too popular a thing. Heliod really can't hold down the whole deck by himself. Of course, it's probably going to be even more experimented with than it was this season, and it may even reach teir 2. I just don't see it as a tier 1 deck because there isn't enough support at this moment. That may change as more cards are spoiled, however.

My only issue is the new black -2/-2 all creatures thing, that'll hurt

I agree Drown in Sorrow is going to kick some ass. I am although still excited to see White play

I think mono white is viable but it has 0 answers to Supreme Verdict and has to fight with mono red for popularity. Boros seems slightly.better just for cards like Boros Charm . I pray that is not the case but who knows.

0 answers? Rootborn Defenses . Still think Drown in Sorrow will kick some major butt though.

I like mono-red's position a bit better than mono-white right now because mono-red can Skullcrack Gary and Sphinx's Rev, and gives MBD a turn less with hasty dudes to find an answer. It has better sideboarding against elspeth and MUD because of Electrickery too. More reach is also granted with burn spells and Fanatic of Mogis . I like both of their positions right now but feel RDW is a better deck as of right now.

I don't feel like devotion is going to be good for white. however, I see a lot in the spoilers that would be good for mono white. the legendary cat is going to be awesome. there is also the 2 cost 3/1 that limits players to one draw per turn. I think that will be amazing. im looking forward to the next generation of white weenies

I may get back in to standards to play a mono-white tokens build or just mono white humans. So far with Brimaz and Precinct Captain you can curve out nicely, keep devotion to white up and make tokens whenever you deal damage. Throw in some Rootborn Defenses and you're set.

White heroic is a thing, with blue or green as support it can be really good and build its guys up to where the new sweepers wont matter.

I will say that Rootborn Defenses and Boros Charm do not help against Drown in Sorrow FYI

Who even cares about devotion? Dryad Militant and Soldier of the Pantheon , along with Judge's Familiar and Boros Elite if you need them are all strong one drops. The 3/1 enchantment creature for 2 looks good, and Daring Skyjek , Cavalry Pegasus , Precinct Captain and Imposing Sovereign are all viable options for the 2-drop slot. 3-drops include Frontline Medic , Spear of Heliod , Brimaz, King of Oreskos , Ajani, Caller of the Pride , Archetype of Courage and Banisher Priest . Along with rootborn defences and Brave the Elements for support, mono-white is looking very strong. There's also a 2/2 vigilance for WW with heroic for a 1/1 cat with vigilance, and don't forget about Mutavault . Yeah, white weenie looks good enough even without any devotion support.

Besides Spear of Heliod , some of the best answers to Drown in Sorrow would be Phalanx Leader , and Legion's Initiative if splashing red.

Fortify along with Spear of Heliod keeps you out of range easy enough.

I'm excited, but also thinking white/green heroic / cat tribal / token goodness, etc.
I was all set to do R/B devotion stuff, but all these new white cards coming out are looking too good.

Man looking through the new set Mono white is in my opinion poised to be top echelon in decks very soon. It seems to have more Exile removal and some pretty sick cards Brimaz and Eidolon of Countless Battles Those two are going to be really tough to deal with in MWD,.,. I foresee Mono chromatic decks being at the top of the competition, but white has some really strong additions in this set.
