Species Gorger, Master Biomancer, cheap CMC creatures. Anyone else seeing the possible synergy here?

May be useful once INN rotates. INN is just too much of the core of decks right now for it to be useful.

Calling Mutant as the type? Certainly, but tokens might be a better way forward than just cheap CMC creatures.

It would be much better to call 'Mutant' as Biomancer makes everything come in as Mutants. But yes, I see strong synergy here.

too bad this doesn't work with Assemble the Legion ;-)

The tokens would still get the buff, but they won't put counters on Door.
They would benefit from Biomancer and Door though as long as Biomancer is already on the field when they enter.

But guys, that's 4 COLORS. Assemble the Legion and Master Biomancer could only see play together in casual play. Especially if we're losing check lands.

Four colors is still technically possible. With cards like Chromatic Lantern and Shimmering Grotto in standard, it's not too far-fetched. There's also the less effective Transguild Promenade . It's not completely consistent, but there's no reason it can't be done. Although I do agree it's mostly casual play, but you can still use Evolving Wilds to fetch basic lands that will fix for you, then there's Farseek which can fetch Shocklands, etc etc.

With the released Theros cards so far, it seems like the meta is going to slow down a shit ton.

Well sure. Even 5 colors is possible with Maze's End . Its just that it wouldn't be tier 1. Not that it has to be

It's not really useful unless you run a lot of elfs, seeing as you have to cast elves in order tog et the charge counters on the door.

It would be awesome (considering Door of Destinies is set to mutant and you played Master Biomancer before Species Gorger ) I'm actually trying to get my hands on some Master Biomancer s in order to do this exact same thing with my simic deck.

Door of Destinies is not that great with Master Biomancer ... at least not as far as the Creature Type "Mutant" is concerned.
Creatures enter the Battle field as Mutants... However, they are are not Mutant Spells when cast. As such, they will not trigger Door of Destinies , and it will not gain counters.
You would have to name "Elf", and be running a large number of elves... then the Biomancer will get the bonus of the door, and thus further elves will get the counters from the Biomancer...
I'm just not certain it's worth it, since once you get the Biomancer out, if you cast a few Elves you're probably in a winning position.
There's also lots of simpler ways of getting the Biomancer's power boosted... including a second Biomancer.

Err, placing creatures is a spell. A creature with the subtype "wolf" is a wolf spell. All creatures placed will trigger the door of destinies if mutant is named and master biomancer is on the battlefield, since they all are mutant spells.

No. A spell is only "Cast" at the time it is placed on the stack and it's costs are paid. Placing a creature on the battlefield is a part of the resolution of the spell.
Door of Destinies checks the "Creature type" of the "Spell" as it is "Cast"... if it is not a spell, or the spell does not have the appropriate creature type at the time it is cast, it will not trigger.
Examples:
Elvish Mystic , played from hand, G paid = Creature - Elf Druid spell being cast.... resolution causes the Creature to enter the Battlefield, and if Master Biomancer is on the Battlefield, the creature will also enter as a Mutant. - Does not trigger Door of Destinies with any named creature type other than Elf or Druid
Advent of the Wurm , played from hand, 1GGW paid = Instant spell being cast.... resolution causes a Wurm Creature to enter the Battlefield, if Master Biomancer is on the Battlefield, the creature will also enter as a Mutant. - Does not trigger Door of Destinies with any named creature type... including Wurm, as the spell was not a creature spell.
Aquitect's Will , played from Graveyard due to Snapcaster Mage , U paid = Tribal Sorcery - Merfolk spell is cast... resolution causes a counter to be placed on a land, no creature enters the Battlefield. - Door of Destinies will trigger, so long as the named creature type was Merfolk. This is because although it was not a "creature spell" it was still a spell with a Creature type that matched the chosen creature type.

Sorry... the last line of the Advent of the Wurm example was worded incorrectly... it should have said "... including Wurm, as the spell did not have a creature type."
It does not matter that it was not a creature spell... so long as the spell has a creature type (see Aquitect's Will example)

sounds interesting if you go with elfs there cheap the produse mana and alll that.
name 'elf' with Door of Destinies . and cast maste biomacer and couple of elf manadorks. it sound fun but i cant think what i just named of being competitive. but it sounds fun like in the same way of pairing Master Biomancer with Assemble the Legion , Garruk, Primal Hunter or flash Advent of the Wurm
