I don't understand why people hate on Assemble the Legion so much! i mean yeah its kinda expensive but if u can pull it off and say pair it with counters from Gavony Township over and over again soon enough u will have a HUGE army of red/white soldiers!
i think its a great card and i'm really proud of my deck deck:naya-justice-post-gtc and while people say to take out Assemble the Legion . I won't!

yeah and if you can pull play this off with a Parallel Lives oh gosh imagine the possibilities you would be getting exponentially higher tokens really REALLY fast.

Yea, you just need to be sure that you can hold off aggro decks until you can set this off

Funny when using it in conjunction with Descent into Madness . :3

Great card in or against control decks, otherwise not good at all.

If you have fun with the card, I say use it. It's not always about winning. That being said, I don't know if we will ever see Assemble the Legion in any tier one decks, but at a more local level, you never know what's going to win.

What I would do would be to drop early hard hitters like Wojek Halberdiers and putting Madcap Skills on them to put your opponent on the defensive. That way you can keep yourself alive while you muster the mana for Assemble the Legion .

Best of use of the card as I see it is to ramp it out ASAP with card:Avacyn's Pilgrim and the like.

I use the card and I don't even have the ramp, its just a fun card in my opinion. Who dons't like making soldiers?

GOing B/W/R would be a great option, as you get the hilariously evil combo of Descent into Madness with Assemble the Legion , and you have access to two major control colors. Using cards like Dreadbore , Tribute to Hunger , Mind Rot , Terminus , you can keep the field clean until you bust out your combo

Once you do bust the combo out, your opponent's will pray to god you kill them quick, since all of their major threats are gone :) I built a casual version of this combo Madness? THIS! IS! SPARTA!

No problem. I build decks for a more casual, fun filled game then to win. I like to win yes, but if I don't I'll be just as satisfied if I have fun :3

American control!
Just counter and unsummon (Azorius Charm) aggro until this is down then disrupt (more Azorius Charm! also Searing Spear) and wait for the army.
Try to avoid Izzet Staticasters though. Goldnight Commander fits in the mana curve and would do serious work here.
Of course Farseek, Avacyn's Pilgrim, and Gavony Township are begging for green. Either way this is still a crazy fun card

Chavest loves this card just as much, as it gives access to black kill spells and board removal such as Tribute to Hunger, Ultimate Price, Descent into Madness, and everyone's favorite black walker, Liliana of the Veil

none has mentions Cathars' Crusade yet gets sick combined with the legion.
i know have 8 counters on legion>get 1/1 tokens>cursade trigger>all enter same time so 8 counters each = 9/9 army.

Keep it. While there are better 5 drops, there is also less enchantment hate rooted into decks. Therefore this card can become out of control if left unchecked.
