augur spree vs murder

Auger Spree doesnt hit everything but can get past regenerate/indestructible, while Murder does hit evrything but cant deal with regen/indestructible. thoughts?
reason posting is never see anyone using augur spree even when cocatrice were active or the few FNM i attended.
I see it as a semi-useful sideboard card against Naya and Boros where a Murder can be trumped by Boros Charm , but there are probably better sideboard cards to use.
With the right preparation and against some decks, it can also act as a pump spell for your own creatures. Desecration Demon can survive the drop in toughness pretty easily, so can Olivia Voldaren after a couple counters. You just have to be careful not to use it for this purpose against decks that can do instant speed creature damage.

Removal is diverse. Murder , Victim of Night , Ultimate Price , Devour Flesh , Tribute to Hunger , Tragic Slip , Auger Spree , Dreadbore , Mizzium Mortars , Searing Spear , and Pillar of Flame to name some. Try using one or two of each. If you need to stop a popular card in your meta, then choose removal that best suits your situation.

It depends on the deck, but you should almost always find something better than Auger Spree . In addition to what has already been posted, Flames of the Firebrand is great. But yeah, any of the above are better. Between the two, Murder is better (I've even been running 1 in my Esper control).

Auger Spree doesn't hit present threats in standard right now, like Thundermaw Hellkite , or Craterhoof Behemoth . There aren't very many threats in standard that are indestructible or have regen besides Lotleth Troll or Predator Ooze anyway.
