Blind Obedience for Control?

Is Blind Obedience essential right now with the current standard meta? I had 2 in my sideboard, but I feel like American control has enough burn to keep up with aggro haste decks. What do you all think? I am considering running Warleader's Helix in the side instead of the Obedience.

Blind Obedience is also somewhat useful against Obzedat, Ghost Council . Sure, they can still trampoline him for the 2 & 2 each turn, but it keeps them from swinging him. Alternately, they don't bounce him out so they can attack with him, and you've got greater opportunities to kill him.

so...are we in agreement that I should shoot the Obedience back in the side and not use the Helix?

That would be my suggestion... though it could depend on what else is in your deck.
The life gain can be good when running a slower deck, but it can be found elsewhere with Azorius Charm and/or Sphinx's Revelation ... and of course... Blind Obedience !
My RUW control deck (You will RUW the day!) has such a variety of removal (28 removal options) that I can't see using 4CMC for 4 damage... if I felt I needed the life gain, it could be a consideration.

i like Imposing Sovereign better, dunno why, but i think it gives better board state.

The problem with Imposing Sovereign in control is it doesn't stick around after a board wipe, which you're assuredly running.

Still dies...less likely to have enchantments removed than creatures.

I have found that running 2 mainboard isn't bad, I run them in my Orzhov Control and against control, it lets me get more value out of each spell, as well as stopping Ling from swinging, bouncing, then blocking, then against pretty much anyone else, the tapped clause is relevant because of things like Stormbreath Dragon as well as Ash Zealot .

Blind Obedience is also nice as a partial foil to Stormbreath Dragon as well as a grindy way to close out matches against midrange/control decks.
