If I have 2x Blood Scrivener on the battlefield and no cards in hand, when I draw will both Scriveners trigger, causing me to draw 4 cards and lose 2 life?
Hmm...that seems strange to stack that way but I guess 3 cards for 2 life isn't that bad. Thanks!

I believe the wording on the gatherer is overly simplified. Lets see if I can break this down correctly. When you are instructed to draw multiple cards, you will draw them one at a time. when you draw a card with two Blood Scrivener
's on the field, one will trigger first. This will then instruct you to draw 2 cards, lose one life.
Now you are drawing two cards, so you go to draw the first card. The other Blood Scrivener will trigger so you will again, draw two cards and lose one life (but remember you are replacing one draw from the other Blood Scrivener ) You would then draw 2 cards and lose 1 life from one Blood Scrivener and finish drawing the rest of the cards from the other Blood Scrivener , so draw one more and lose one more life.
Did that explanation help at all?

@Smith_and_Tonic: Remember that Blood Scrivener has a static ability that sets up a replacement effect. Nothing about that ability is triggered.

So from my understanding it is basically stating with 2 on the field and an empty hand you'll draw 3 cards and loose 2 life?

Yes. Each replacement effect applies. If you have no cards in hand and would draw a card, you instead draw (1+X) cards and lose X life, where X is the number of Blood Scrivener s under your control.

Ok, so is it worth having two in play at once? To clarify we talking about Jund Midrange for the most part.

For midrange, it is worth it. THis gives you time to draw into the Sire Of Insanity and other bombs you need to win. Plus if you have aristocrat or olivia out you can get rid of the scriveners if they prove troublesome, or not empty your hand.
