Breaking the tutor

Standard forum

I've been looking over my underwhelming prelrelease pull of Plea for Guidance for a while now. 6 cmc is a lot, but the effect is pretty great.

What kind of enchantment pairs can we tutor (in standard) to really make this worth the effort?

My only idea at the moment is tutor Assemble the Legion and Purphoros, God of the Forge out of a UWR control shell.

Ideas?

You could use it to pull any of the enchantment creatures like Eidolon of Countless Battles and maybe Ethereal Armor at the same time just because why not XD

It never will see play as far as I know, because it doesn't even put them on the battlefield. So you have to wait a whole other turn before it becomes useful.

What's worse about the card is you have to reveal whatever you want to take.

I was thinking about it and in standard it won't see play. The only format it would is commander I think and even then I doubt it would see much.

Seems really good in commander, so long as you have a couple of enchantments worth tutoring.

But standard? It's so slow! The only way it could be worth it is if you tutor a killer combo (or strong synergy) that can get on the table next turn and start the clock.

Sphere of Safety and Stab Wound is possible, but you would need to have an enchantment or two already out to make it worthwhile.

There are some reasonable toolbox options as well. Rest in Peace or Illness in the Ranks for example. Or Unflinching Courage .

There are easily a dozen better tutors in Commander than Plea though. I honestly can't think of any format I would play it in. Even limited.
