So, my LGS is having a budget deck tournament in 2 weeks, and so I need some ideas. The specifications is the deck has to be $35 or less retail value. What im thinking right now:

Mono Black Aggro: Its already a really good deck (after its appearance at the SCG Open), and isn't that much money.

Abzan Midrange: The deck has lots of big beaters, and isn't really a lot of money.

Jeskai Tempo: The core of the deck is all commons and uncommons anyway, and the few rares are cheap.

Any other thoughts you guys have? Anyone like the ideas I have? ANy advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks guys and happy deckbuilding!

Mono colors gives you the best opportunity to have a better core, because you aren't distracting with your manabase.

Also, control is very strong in the budget realm. Just find a cheap (price wise), efficient beater (Prognostic Sphinx ?), then load up on counterspells and some one shot removal.

Mono blue control actually seems pretty decent for a hyper budget tourny. You even have access to Whelming Wave and Perilous Vault as sweepers.

RDW can be played without Goblin Rabblemaster

@TheRedDude yeah but then it's infinitely worse. Plus if he's able to play Jeskai tempo, which plays 4 Rabblemasters, then I think he can get them.
