so biovisionary is begging to be cloned, cackling counterpart+ parallel lives, but i need all clone and copy into token effects in standard right now. no evil twin is a maybe evn though it could kill my dudes but i need to test it first

-cackling counterpart-clone-evil twin

what else?????

card:Druid's Deliverance after you get the Cackling Counterpart out. Maybe Sundering Growth . Anything w/ a cheap populate effect, but that might be able to be used in case you don't have Biovisionary out.

biovisionary must be out in order to copy it, so at least one, but i never though of the populaters, you're a genius haha maybe ill add white for rootborn deffense since it will protect them haha thragtusk is df. going in for when i dont draw biovisionary, and need a staller, draw abilities? think twice any more?

There will be Stolen Identity ?

what about things to get your Clone and Evil Twin back into your hand in the event that you needed them to deal with another threat before you can get your Biovisionary to 4x on the board (e.g. Unsummon Azorius Charm Dramatic Rescue and Simic Charm) or you could include red for Chandra, the Firebrand and Reverberate to copy your Cackling Counterpart (isn't there an enchant creature card that does this too?).

That's all I can think of, but I don't know the Innastrad block very well.

Stolen Identity may be useful, and Infinite Reflection would certainly ensure you can get 4 Biovisionary

I agree with Rayenous. Infinite Reflection = GG. You wouldn't have to build your whole deck around building copies of Biovisionary . This would open you up to many other build options (and therefore victory conditions not dependent on Biovisionary ).

If Biovisionary is your primary win-condition, you need to be running four of them. No question.

Cackling Counterpart + Populate seems like the best call.

The biggest issue will be having an opponent play Slaughter Games before you get the chance to play the first Biovisionary ... you'll need to have an alternate win-con... at least in the sideboard for BR decks... Nevermore can at least be removed.

January 14, 2013 12:48 p.m.

@Rayenous However, that is only if our opponent knows you're using Biovisionary . In that case have an alt wincon in the sideboard is more necessary, in addition to some counterspells.

yeah but FNM is 3 rounds, B/R will stop me short. Zandl is right i need a speedy win, sigarda is going in mainboard and so is thrag tusk for alt. win cons because cackling counterpart thragtusk and im going to destroy

@ArantirTheDestroyer don't forget that Slaughter Games cannot be countered. That would make it extremely dangerous to a make a deck dependent on Biovisionary as the only or primary win condition. If the deck is B/R, the opponent almost certainly has other ways to remove creatures, which is why I think an Infinite Reflection + Biovisionary is a better tactic. If you wait until turn 5 to cast Biovisionary and have three other creatures already out, you win on turn 6 with Infinite Reflection . The other three creatures don't matter and can certainly disguise the coming Biovisionary prior to turn 5 (an aggressive B/R player may have already burned out smaller creatures and be caught unprepared). Alternatively, if you cast Biovisionary on turn 3, then Clone it or cast Cackling Counterpart on turn 4, your strategy is revealed to your opponent, who will probably respond with aggressive creature removal. My point is that since it is difficult to disguise it, it's better to win as soon as possible after Biovisionary is revealed. It will be interesting to see what is the most viable deck with a Biovisionary slant.

realize this though, if i can give it hexproof what are they going to do? i need things that will give my board hexproof/indestructable. also infinite reflection is aweful, i'd rather populate it, because they can't use removal if i use rootborn defense in response. mizzium skin maybe??

with clone spells, the best alt win-con is by looping. For example, chain 8 Consuming Aberration s together then play a bunch of cheap spells with flashback, or play 5 Blood Artist and and play a few kill spells.

January 14, 2013 5:10 p.m.

@10vernothin its a biovisionary deck... not consuming aberration...sorry...

alt win-con in case your Biovisionary is Slaughter Games or Nevermore

January 14, 2013 5:27 p.m.

better win cons are cloning/cackling thragtusk then proliferating it if cackled or sigarda(legendary so no gloning but still it almost never leaves play unless it is combat damaged or something)

Apoptosis, I'd forgotten that Games couldn't be countered. Thanks for correcting me on that. Also, with "Mana dorks," it is actually possible to win turn 4:

Turn 1:

Forest , Arbor Elf

Turn 2:

Island , Biovisionary

Turn 3:

Forest , Arbor Elf , Arbor Elf

Turn 4:

Infinite Reflection , win.

January 15, 2013 8:41 a.m.

arantir sure cuz 3 arbor elves is soooo likely... i'll play test it

Could also card:Avacyn's Pilgrim or that ranger that lets you put a land in play. Also I would wait to drop Biovisionary the turn before you cast for the win. The longer it's on the battlefield the more likely someone would kill it (unless you were worried about slaughter games, but it's more likely someone would Oblivion Ring or just kill it with direct damage etc.

And Sever the Bloodline , Supreme Verdict , Slaughter Games , Planar Cleansing , Zombie Apocalypse , Mizzium Mortars , Street Spasm , Balefire Dragon , Blasphemous Act , Bonfire of the Damned , Magmaquake , Mutilate , and probably even Detention Sphere is gonna come around and ruin your plans. If you want this to work, you'll have to find answers to ALL these questions or win the game by around turn 3 or 4, which is just about impossible being that the card itself costs 3 mana.

January 20, 2013 3:42 a.m.

So.. Biovisionary is a card, and it's a human... card:Angel of Glory's Rise come to mind?
