clone/mirrorweave and etb/ltb effects

I understand that Clone triggers ETB effects like that of Thragtusk but would it trigger his LTB effect of dropping a 3/3 token beast? It seems that Clone is leaving the battlefield and technically just ceasing to be Thragtusk anymore. Also, if I used Mirrorweave while Thragtusk was on the battlefield and turned him into a different creature did he technically leave the battlefield or not? I'm thinking no because the actual card is still on the battlefield...

The answer to your first question is yes. If a permanent or effect copies Thragtusk , it's last known quality when it leaves the battlefield will be as Thragtusk. Of course, it will cease to exist as Thragtusk after it's moved to another zone, but you will still get the 3/3 beast token.

As far as Mirrorweave goes, effects which change the name or other qualities of a permanent on the battlefield don't cause that permanent to leave the battlefield.
