How viable is a deck centered on using Crypt Ghast to drop bombs like Necropolis Regent and Lord of the Void ?

I built a deck Ghastly that tries to do just that but i wonder if heavily black Dimir is the way to go or maybe i should rebuild it Orzhov or Esper for a Supreme Verdict or Divine Reckoning to clear the board before dropping the ghast,

everyone seems to have forgotten about Heartless Summoning , sigh. you can do really brutal things in grixis with all of the x mana cost burn spells and Charmbreaker Devils bringing them back, as well as being able to drop the fats when you need to.

I don't think it's wise to base a deck's functionality on a 2/2 creature with no evasion. In a format full of burn spells and tempo decks, you'll get blown out by a single card or outpaced by several cards.

Ideally, you would only play cards you could cast properly without the aid of Crypt Ghast , but at that point you don't even need Crypt Ghast anymore.

Well, i have a fun deck that you mighnt like. oodles of black noodles., Crypt Ghast is the engine behind it, using the excess mana for spells like card:Rakdos's Return or card:Aurelia's Fury, using Liliana of the Dark Realms and card:Liliana's Shade for land fetch.

I have been conjuring up similar ideas with Crypt Ghast after blowing people out with it in limited. The potential to play unruly things with mana left over for kill spells on turn 5-6 can be mindblowing. I maindeck Bonfire of the Damned in my B/W/R oros deck which relies on Seance as the driving reanimator engine, with a little back-up from Unburial Rites . To be able to Seance the Crypt Ghast and go to town with all my mana open (the Crypt Ghast effectively comes into play for free, because I exile it to create a creature token that is a copy of the exiled card. This token is exiled at the beginning of the next end step) can be out of this world. However since gatecrash is relatively new, I don't have the Godless Shrine s to support my Crypt Ghast so as of right now, I am not currently playing it.

I think it could potentially see play, but not so much in conjunction with Liliana of the Dark Realms because she comes into play the same time Crypt Ghast would. Its not mana efficient, and you would most likely just end up with a dead Crypt Ghast quite quickly. IF it finds a home, I would suspect it would be in a jund mid-range or B/U/G ramp deck as a two of, but probably no more than that.

Thats pretty much what i was afraid of. The multiple black in both Lord of the Void and Necropolis Regent made me think about ways to cheat them out but the Crypt Ghast is just too easy to thwart. I'm probably going to look into some kind of B/U/G ramp instead.
