I saw that one of the recent top 8 standrad decks was using this card. I have basically discounted its use,but am I missing the complete obviousness of it? Is this the answer to control and/or and removal based decks? Each time the conter your card you may duplicate their counter, yes? and also, each tim e you gets burned you may burn back. If i'm seeing this corectly, Curse of Echoes shuts down the upside to a Bonfire of the Damned wipe and also any deck thats trying to contro lthe board without being answered.

It neuters all their counterspells not named Counterflux and lets you copy their card:Sphinx's Revelations. I put 2 in every control list I brew as a result.

When they cast a spell with X, do you get the exact benefit they did? Like, if they cast card:Sphinx's Revelation and declared X as 5, would you also gain 5 life and draw 5 cards?

Yup. Heh. Tasty life totals...

Really good for something like Grixis control that doesn't have much/any lifegain or X-card draw capabilities.
