Curse of the Swine + Ratchet Bomb

Will using Curse of the Swine to make all their creatures a token with CMC of 0 then cracking Ratchet Bomb be a big thing for control decks? I think it may, especially ones without Supreme Verdict , and it scares the hell outta me
Even with 1 creature to kill.... it's 1UU + 2 for a total of 5CMC, and requires 2 cards in your deck to do it. More creatures require more mana, and having to rely on multiple cards is never great. - If any color or combination of colors has another option for board wipe, they'll likely it instead. Cyclonic Rift , Supreme Verdict , Anger of the Gods ... maybe even Planar Cleansing .
It may be done in a few decks... likely just as a "sideboard in Ratchet Bomb " option against certain (likely mid-range or token) deck types.

I see Curse of the Swine as a good option for TurboFog decks, as a way of turning creatures with nasty abilities, which Fog does nothing against, into Vanilla creatures that can be shut-down all day.
@raithe000 - Grixis doesn't have Supreme Verdict ... but it now has Anger of the Gods , which will take care of most decks. Curse of the Swine might be a sideboard option against decks with many larger creatures.

I am considering running these as 2 of for this one reason in an esper control deck, but I've relegated it to the sb for now. A lot more playtesting will tell me if they are better mb, sb, or just a fun combo for casual decks.

I can see having both in MB, but not a lot of them. Curse of the Swine and Ratchet Bomb DO have some good synergy and maybe can be used in a Trading Post deck when you come across an indestructible creature or two. Hell, it can even be used to exile your goat tokens for 2/2's lol.
ORRRR a G/U defender deck that wants to win by turning all of your defenders into 2/2 's and somehow make them unblockable :)

If you're playing Blue as control right now, you're really just hurting yourself unless you're also playing White. Blue and White gives you access to the 4 quintessential control cards in Standard right now: Azorius Charm , Sphinx's Revelation , Supreme Verdict , and Detention Sphere .
Curse of the Swine is too slow and too mana-intensive, not to mention the fact that it's a Sorcery. Using both IT AND a Ratchet Bomb on YOUR turn is (a) tapping mana on your turn, and (b) less-than-average card advantage.
tl;dr - Use Supreme Verdict .

zandl Curse of the Swine has one advantage that verdict doesn't, 'exile' which means indestructible is removed. d-sphere is a better option than verdict in this case. But if d-sphere is removed, they get the creature back, which is why this 'combo' is something to consider.

But it's still 2 cards. And I feel popping a Ratchet Bomb to clean up the other half of a spell is a bit silly.
And with that kind of mana investment, you might as well just play Merciless Eviction instead.

zandl it may be a bit silly, but if you're not having fun, you should reevaluate priorities...
But Ratchet Bomb might have a spot in the mainboard if tokens are a real thing post theros. So why not have this fun combo in the deck, if you're already half way there. this is also a board wipe, not a two for one type of situation.
Though, I plan to play Merciless Eviction in the long run as a 2 of.

Fun is subjective. I have fun with good cards doing good things.

Its not bad, but it does require two cards, and you can't use Ratchet Bomb as a threat against their big guys, because it has to be kept at 0 counters.
Also, I thought the major control builds were Esper, America, and Grixis, and out of those, only Grixis doesn't have access to Supreme Verdict.
