Dance of Skywise on Swiftspear trigger?

If I cast Dance of the Skywise on a Monastery Swiftspear will it trigger the prowess to give a temporary +1/+1 counter so when it resolves Swiftspear will be a 5/5 flier? If so could be a cool combo...Dance of the Skywise + Monastery Swiftspear turns 1 and 2. Similar to Darksteel Citadel + Ensoul Artifact + Ornithopter + Springleaf Drum . Not indestructible but requires less cards to assemble. Also, turning someone into a dragon is useful for spells with an added bonus for controlling a dragon, such as Silumgar's Scorn, but due to the wording the Dance would already have to have been resolved before the Scorn is even cast. Same effect but not quite an instant speed trick, as you can't cast Dance and then put Scorn on the stack in response to a spell being cast ( you could but it would resolve without the dragon bonus...)

I think Dance would make Swiftspear a 5/5 flier. Ruling?

Should have posted this in Q&A. I believe she will become a 5/5 since the Prowess trigger will happen as soon as Dance of the Skywise is cast, then her base P/T will become 4/4 and she will still be getting the +1/+1 from Prowess, making her a 5/5.

No, I shouldn't have. One aspect was a clarifying question one was a possible combo suggestion, ie a way to swing for 5 in the air on turn 2 easily. Only requires 2 cards and 2 colored mana symbols. Being at 14 life on T2 on the draw can be difficult for some decks to overcome, like if they have to play a Temple or wedge land turn 1 then they're already way behind as long as you keep putting out threats. Thanks for offering your opinion though.

It's a 5/5 yes. Chaning base power and toughness do not change any alterations of power and toughness. Prowess resolves, Monastery Mentor is a 2/3, base power and toughness 1/2, Dance of the Skywise resolves, Monastery Mentor does not lose its extra +1/+1, it's there until end of turn, and becomes a 5/5 flier, base power and toughness 4/4.

However, further than the ruling, this is not any better combo than Ensoul Artifact + Ornithopter . You get in for 5 damage ONCE, and are left with a 1/2 prowess (which isn't terrible). Ensoul Artifact + Ornithopter hits for 5, and then sticks around to keep hitting for 5.

The combo you mentioned above I don't think is even a combo. You play Darksteel Citadel, cast Springleaf Drum, play a free Ornithopter and use it for Springleaf Drum mana, leaving you with one mana, whereas Ensoul Artifact costs 1U. Also, there isn't much point of playing T1 Ensoulnithopter, even if you could, seeing as it can't attack until the second turn. One artifact + Ensoul Artifact is all the combo entails, not a whole 4 cards. However, you could have some fun by running both synergies in one edeck, U/R artifact prowess. You've got all the above-mentioned cards, but I would notably add Shrapnel Blast and the like.

The Silumgar's Scorn trick works fine. Your opponent casts Lightning Strike and you don't like that. You respond with Dance of the Skywise. Dance resolves and everyone gets another chance to make responses before Strike starts resolving. You cast Silumgar's Scorn and get the bonus.

Card interaction questions are fine for Rules Q&A, since they ultimately end up hinging on the rules of the game for figuring out the answer.
