So I'm loving this lil guy named Deathmist Raptor and want to build a Whip deck with him but that's a story for another post. In this post I wanted to see if anyone had some idea of how he'll be worked into G/W devotion and what he'll replace. I know he's got some stiff competition for the three drop slot.

He's gonna be an auto include in the Mastery of the Unseen decks. A 3/3 deathtoucher with recursion is awesome. I really have a feeling the G/W devotion decks aren't going to look like they do now once DTK comes out. So it's less about what it replaces and more about how it has synergy with the rest of the deck. Hidden Dragonslayer, Silumgar Assassin, and Den Protector provide the deck with a ton of utility and gives the deck a way to interact with your opponents board. Abzan mastery is going to be the way to go once DTK is released. IMHO

Mono Green splash White will still probably be better than Abzan because they can absolutely abuse Mastery of the Unseen with Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx. Nothing that Black offers works better toward that end (not to say Black doesn't have sweet Manifest tricks of its own, they're just mostly sac-related).

As far as what to take out, I say everything except for Mastery. 4 Mastery and 32 Raptors seems like an unbeatable deck.

I think we'll see green devotion crossed with self mill in a GW devotion shell. 3 Soul of Theros, 4 Satyr Wayfinder, 3 Den Protector, 4 of the Dinosaur, possibly drop caryatids and fleecemanes.

The only deck that can hang is control with 20 Perilous Vault.
