Deathpact Angel

I want to make a B/W/U control midrange utilizing similar tactics as bant control except black in the place of green and I would love to know how viable Deathpact Angel is because I feel it could really shine in a deck of this nature

Thank you, there is your normal amount of aggro, but there are quite a few mid-range bant-like decks, stalling and tokens for chump blocking and such

Deathpact Angel might be a limited bomb, but it has no real place in a Constructed format. Depending on the deck, I would recommend a card more like Obzedat, Ghost Council or Desecration Demon

How much creature hate is there? Does anyone play Illness in the Ranks ? How often do your creatures get locked down by enchantments?

I will also be running Obzedat, DaCeltics, and as far as I know there is limited creature hate, mainly things like Oblivion Ring and Detention Sphere , which I will be running counters for, as well as my early game consisting of the Extort Mechanic as well as Spirit Tokens as chump blockers, so I plan to run 2-4 Intangible Virtue to keep them out of cards like that, as well as making them bigger and allowing me to swing AND block

I think using Unburial Rites would be a better way of resurrecting the angel than using the actual token. I don't think it deserved a Mythic Rare status.
For a mythic, I would have expected either of these, instead:
Token being a 0/2 or 0/3
The token sac to cost less than the actual creature
Sac the token to create a token of Deathpact Angel

I wish that the angel had some ability in addition to the token, to make her playable, such as
3WBB
Creature-Angel
Flying, Extort
When ~ enters the battlefield choose target permanent, and put a pact counter on it. When ~ dies, destroy all permanents with pact counters on them, then put a 1/1 white and black Cleric token onto the battlefield. It has "3WBB,T, Sacrifice this creature: Return a card named Deathpact Angel from your graveyard to the battlefield."
I know its a little wordy, but something to that effect.

I want to include 2-3 copies of Unburial Rites , and yeah the token is a little susceptible to removal, but it will be a 2/2 or 3/3 due to Intangible

Are you running counters like Syncopate , Psychic Strike , or Dissipate ?

If I could link the damn deck everyone could take a look

You have to include the "slug" in square brackets.
deck:bwu-control-02-02-13-1
The "slug" is the last part of the URL to your deck. For example, your deck's slug is "bwu-control-02-02-13-1"

So I completely proxy'd this deck last night, and after doing some test hands and playtesting, it seems BRUTAL

after reading this i can sort of see why deathpact is out of stock on sites like magic madhouse but i think its a solid card in a control deck because is a heavy hitter and a pretty good blocker that can keep coming back. i thinks a great idea to have things like unburial rites then use the token and have 2 deathpact's on the field. in short others ways to bring her back is a must because you can easily get multiple deathpact's on the field

The only problem with that, fearlessBMF, is that it requires you to have a Deathpact Angel in you graveyard to bring it back. Otherwise you just tapped out and sacrificed a creature for nothing.

Moved to Standard because this discussion is focused more on a concept than a specific deck.
