This is a very interesting article about the development of KTK and M15. What I found most interesting is that Lilliana of the Veil was almost reprinted in M15! If only....
Sorry if this is in the wrong forum.
Not at the time she wasn't. When M15 released she was around 30. So were Chord of Calling and Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth and they both dropped significantly. I'm not saying I know what would I happened, but I think it would have had an effect.

Yeah, they talked about how Liliana of the Veil was in M15 for a while because of their focus on Garruk, Apex Predator's story arc. However she proved too good for a variety of reasons, like putting the Obstinate Baloth text on Siege Rhino, and cut her from the file. That article is super interesting as a case study in how a card R&D thought was powerful turns out to be a pretty bad card.
For those who hadn't read the article, First Response was apparently a powerhouse in R&D during M15 FFL testing. But there were also times where it cost and which is just a bit more powerful.

Hey, I would've LOVED if Lili was Standard playable, being the only mono-B walker right now...

Your comment is slightly misleading lol. There is a mono black planeswalker that is standard legal right now. Her name is Liliana!

not that a reprint would have mattered. Liliana of the Veil at this point has reached Tarmogoyf levels of want. No matter how many reprints she gets, her price will keep going up and up.
