Does anybody else feel like a BUG deck is about to break out.

With new bob and Kiora's follower being spoiled, I feel like a BUG deck is just waiting to happen.

Honestly no. Bant control seems primed to get a boost as it receives the rest of it's scry lands and a powerful walker to add to Supreme Verdict , Sphinx's Revelation , and Detention Sphere .

Playing Pain Seer turn 2 and Kiora's Follower turn 3 or vice versa seems derpy and a good way to get blown out.

It's totally impossible to make that call with only like 20 cards spoiled.

I am really thinking that Bant is more likely based on what's been spoiled, however BUG is typically a good color combo.

It is still early, but that hasn't stopped kiora decks from getting cycled on the homepage LoL

I'd be happier with a turn-1 Springleaf Drum and a turn-2 Pain Seer , tapping it before my third turn.

Kiora's Whatever seems decent, but I just don't see synergy between it and Pain Seer than SLD doesn't already do faster and better.

Maybe I am just being one sided, (as BUG has a special place in my heart) but I really honestly believe BUG is going to get the boost it needs. I have a shell that is already getting much needed attention on my desk with early card advantage from "Bobs strange cousin from the east". Now all it needs is a good wrath effect and it will be all set.

gnarlicide BUG has Cyclonic Rift (Plays nicely with Pain Seer) and AEtherize off the top of my head.

Ohthenoises. I totally see your point with Cyclonic Rift , and it may work with the seer. But I did try the rift and Gaze of Granite in a BUG build already and they were pretty lackluster in the efficiency department.

Card advantage is another thing that kind of irked me with the original build too, which the seer sort of covers early game. Before that the options were (I am purposely not including Divination here): Jace, AoT and that 6 drop instant draw 4 card. The latter was nice at times and kind of a dud other times. At that point in the game, I would rather play a solid dude than leave mana open for the possibility of getting 1 good card.

I may have to re-tool the deck as a whole and with the inclusion of the seer, tune it to look and play (to the best it can) to a standard version of the modern one. With cheap creatures and removal. Seems easy on paper, right?

Well G gives you ramp, you could always stall with creatures like Sylvan Caryatid . (A MASSIVE pain in the ass for RDW.) This would make Cyclonic Rift a meatier target. Also, as zandl has pointed out Springleaf Drum can do some awesome things. There's a reason it's 4x in most modern/legacy affinity decks.

Tap a Pain Seer for the drum and a caryatid for 2 that means you are just 5 mana from overloading Rift. Seems pretty good to me.
