Dreadhorde arcanist replacement

I'm planning to build a Naya Feather deck, but I'm also on a budget and Dreadhorde Arcanist is way above that budget. Is there some other card I could use to replace him? TBH I don't see his use that much. I can reuse a spell once, but with Feather, I can reuse those same spells almost infinitely. The decklist for my deck is on my profile.

Maybe Spellkeeper Weird ? It's a terrbile substitue, but if you're on a budget you could consider it.

how is $8 "way above budget"? feather can only re-use spells that target your own stuff. arcanist can cast almost anything from the grave if he's big enough.

Because I don't have a job and I'm already paying more than I'd like for this deck. :(
The purpose of the deck is to cast spells that target your own creatures. Shock is the only instant or sorcery that doesn't.

The new skull crack adventure card from throne of eldrane could be good

Ugin420X: 8 bucks is a lot of money in a vacuum. Sure, you get a powerful magic card for it, but after all, it's still a luxury article you don't need to survive, so I can totally relate to 8 bucks being above budget.
On topic: Spellgorger Weird might actually be a decent suggestion.

it does not do the same thing as dreadhord arcanist but Burning Prophet fits in with both the deck and the mana cost so i think it could be an excellent budget replacement.
I would however bring up that Naya feather is unreliable in terms of color consistency. (this is my current standard deck).
I play with a full set of shock lands and most of the buddy lands (soon to rotate) and I still sometimes get mana screwed. So with a budget land base im afraid the deck will be too unreliable.
I would recommend sticking with boros (even though Season of Growth is amazing) i will be swapping to boros when rotation happens

The deck I'm running has almost all dual-color lands, but I see your point. I'll playtest it a few times and see how it works out.
Burning Prophet and Spellgorger Weird are both excellent replacements. I think I prefer Burning Prophet because it's cheaper (something this deck values) and because of the scrying effect.

I have now changed my tune about naya vs boros.
I plan to use 12 fetch lands, 4 fabled passages, 2 evolving wilds, 2 plains, 2 mountains and 1 forest. i may be skimping on the basics so if it goes badly ill ditch the evolving wilds for more basics.
IMHO fabled passage saved naya feather

Don't you think that's not enough lands to fetch? You've got 18 fetch lands (counting FP and evolving wilds), but only 5 to fetch. That means that you can only ever have 5 mana-producing lands.
Also, my problem with Naya Feather (I too recently changed my stance on it) is that there's just not enough good green to be worth splashing for now that I've made it modern. It's like Season of Growth , and Warriors' Lesson , and possibly Domri's Ambush are the only ones and that's not enough.

shock lands are not fetch lands they are duals. So i have 6 fetch lands and 5 to fetch. If i am in the situation that I have all of my basics out and a fetch in hand, yes it will be annoying but the deck operates with 5 lands very well and will make this sacrifice for reliability of the mana colour i need.
I Play standard so warrior's lesson is not an option but i am willing to splash green just for Season of Growth ! (and if season of growth did not exist i would be playing boros).
I also however use Paradise Druid , Domri's Ambush , I will now be using Thrash / Threat ( RIP reckless rage :( ), Collision / Colossus , Gruul Spellbreaker and Veil of Summer in the sideboard.

If you're not playing in tournments I would just proxy the card and test it out. It's really good. Red suffers from card advantage and it's easier to cast than feather. There's a reason its 8 dollars; my only replacement suggestion would be adding more burn or a Chandra from war of the spark.
