Duress vs Transgress the Mind post-rotation

I'm struggling as to which one will be my go-to for hand attack post-rotation
I'm leaning towards Transgress the Mind over Duress because of all the graveyard play in SOI. But I want to see where everyone sits with this
The only graveyard play is Delirium, and as far as I know that mechanic's playability will depend heavily on the meta, which we do not know much about yet

Honestly, both are needed if your plan is control. The value of a turn 1 Duress is inestimable, especially if you have a turn 2 Transgress the Mind to follow up. I don't think either card really falls flat at any point, even if it's just to peek your opponent's hand.

Very true; and to get an early look at your opponents hand is pretty handy
Now the question is how many of each to run. 4 of each seems heavy

Goody Madness is returning and Duress is not good with madness. I like Transgress the Mind. It hits almost every spell you need to in Standard.

Thing with Duress is that you choose the card, so logically you want to target a madness card when your opponent can't pay the madness card.

I think Duress is actually not that bad against madness. Early, then you can hit the madness card with almost no downside. Late game you need to be careful when you play your Duress, but worst-case scenario, you can force them to make a descision as to whether or not to play their madness card now for little value requiring mana, or to let it go.
I'm not saying it's ideal, but it's not that bad.

Mortem It's not ideal but you're right, early it's good. I still like Transgress for the exile effect.

No, it's in the BFZ block; it won't be rotating out until around this time next year

I can see Duress being very well placed with the no turn 1 plays. Duress turn 1 will be good. Only issue is from what we know so far; decks will probably be heavily creature based.
