i was serching for something against aggro with some for of wipe capability in Red. outside of that know of Supreme Verdict and to some degree Gaze of Granite
generally speaking this means Anger of the Gods do use it but i was searching for something cheaper. so came across Electrickery now my problem is aint 1 dmg wipe a tad low?
only deck i could see this be usefull against is rakdos hastedeck most of em them are x/1 thoughness haste but still.
its seems to situational to me to be used outside of some for draft. Thoughts???

Anger is 1000% better haha, 3 damage will kill pretty much anything in an aggro deck save Stormbreath, and for 3 mana to kill and exile, not much more you can ask for

Electrickery
overloaded is also great against decks with lots of x/1 token creatures. Wipe all the elementals from Master of Waves
(he might have prot from red, but the tokens don't) or Assemble the Legion
, Young Pyromancer
, etc. etc.

In the pauper format it is extreme!y useful. I know this is the standard forum but just saying where its good. Normally a card like this isn't expected to see any constructed play in standard. Remember wizards develops for limited before constructed. Now the above mention of uses are good but I would run other things first in standard. Like Anger of the Gods and Mizzium Mortars .

That would make it more of a SB card, and in the end, for 1 more mana (compared to the Overload cost), one could use Anger of the Gods , which is more than 1 Red mana better in terms of effect. The only advantage I can see is that it doesn't hit your own creatures, and you can do it at instant speed (so you could drop it during the declare blockers step so they lose creatures they thought were "safe"), but unless you have some way to copy it, it'll be more of an annoyance. And by the time you pay to copy it, you may as well have overloaded Mizzium Mortars to get a better effect.

Playtest your deck against aggro decks and record the umber of times you feel like you wished you had it in hand. That's how I do it. I play and I think about whether things could have been different if I had that card in my hand. I would guess that Anger of the Gods is just better.
