What is the fastest anyone can play this? I got turn 4T1 Breeding Pool Elvish Mystic T2 Kiora's Follower plus a land T3 same as above but also Illusionist's Bracers T4 equip bracer to follower and ramp up several billion mana

Standard? I think making 8 mana on turn 4 is the best it's going to get.

But I'm thinking you're using Bracers to target follower? You can't do that.

It's a valid play, the Kiora's Follower ability is not a mana ability, therefore it can be copied and target itself.

iamacasual can you explain why not?

March 21, 2014 3:44 p.m.

tyforthevenom says... #6

gufymike i think he thinks that because it says "another target" but the second follower is another target coz it isnt the same follower

blackmarker90 says... #7

You can use the copied ability on the producer of the ability.

tyforthevenom says... #8

If the copy can target the original follower then its turn 3 win making it good idea for modern maybe

It would still be turn 4, as you need 5 mana to cast and equip Illusionist's Bracers , and it would not trigger until after you equip it starting on t4. The biggest thing is that you would have to have something that would instantly win you the game in your deck/hand at that point ie Blue Sun's Zenith forcing your opponent to draw all of their cards.

No coz turn 2 if you played mystic turn 1 and missed no land drops you can put down another mystic giving 5 mana turn 3

Modern it can be played as early as T3

Turn 1 G + Birds of Paradise Turn 2 G + Axebane Guardian Turn 3 U + Steel Wall + Freed from the Real on Axebane Guardian. Infinite mana in all five colors.;..feel free to pick up your entire deck and cast what you wish.

@MSariel: Please leave.

How are you winning once you've drawn your deck?

This is the second thread that MSariel (not linking on purpose) has dropped some foul mouth garbage like that that I have seen.

March 21, 2014 5:14 p.m.

Yeah, I saw it in another thread, but it wasn't this bad, just asinine.

If you intend to discuss Standard, then post in the Standard forum please. Moved. Don't blame people for posting about any format if you post in the General forum.

@tyforthevenom: Your "combo" doesn't work. You can't target Kiora's Follower with its own ability because the ability specifies "another target permanent."

DaggerV says... #22

Modern I have a turn 2 one, don't think I managed a turn one. Legacy is a different story but that's legacy. As for standard? It'd probably be the kiora's follower combo.

March 21, 2014 5:38 p.m.

Wait, I missed your T3 plan because you didn't actually list anything. If you have two Kiora's Follower s and at least one has Illusionist's Bracers , then you can go back and forth.

March 21, 2014 5:44 p.m.

tyforthevenom says... #24

@[user:Epochalyptik] i that is why i stated initially that 2 kiora's follwers are needed because the first follower is "another target permanent" it states nowhere you can't target a second follower

March 21, 2014 7:21 p.m.

Yeah, epoch was just confused by your wording. No biggie, happens to all of us who are in school.
