What do you guys think about a midrange hero deck in esper colors?

With Battlefield Thaumaturge all your removal cost 1 less. And in W/B/U you have access to the best removal. Hero's Downfall , Doom Blade , Decide, ETC.

You can also run hand disruption with Thoughtseize and Brain Maggot .

You can run Athreos, God of Passage to help protect your heros, and can even use Supreme Verdict to put your opponents in a real sticky situation.

I haven't built a decklist yet, I was just wondering if you guys think this is an idea worth pursuing.

It certainly sounds very promising on paper. The idea is sound.

I honestly think you would be better off with straight W/U aggro. There seems to be too many different elements in an Esper deck for it to be consistent. Sure, you could get the perfect blend of removal, Heroes, protection and buffs, but more often than not, one or more of those pieces will be lacking.

Step 1 for playing Esper Humans: remember you are not a control deck!

The issue on playing so much control is you need something guaranteed to finish the game, and humans don't generally do this(regardless of how much potential Daxos has for winning the game.Battlefield Thaumaturge is decent is a control shell but your better off running some big finishers rather than little humans.

Esper Midrange is a viable strategy in the current metagame, but I am skeptical that it would translate into heroic smoothly. However, UB Heroic can be quite successful, and is even being run in certain tournaments as a rogue build.

I really like the U/W build and I think Battlefield Thaumaturge has huge potential to run a heroic deck himself. One of the problems I noticed with heros though, is that your creatures are really quite fragile, and can be picked off often by spot removal. And I really think the addition of Athreos, God of Passage could help solve that issue.
