Everyone's opinions on best tribal?

Standard forum

So, I have been wondering for a while. With the release of Obelisk of Urd, tribal is very easy in the current standard format. Now, I would like everyone's opinions on what they think the best tribal is.

I am currently torn between Warrior and Soldier. Warrior has some pretty powerful cards, considering the Warriors in the format right now are very powerful. There is also Chief of the Scale and Chief of the Edge. But soldier has cheaper CMC's, is super Aggro, and has cards like Raise the Alarm and Launch the Fleet to make it very unbeatable.

Also, you can't forget about Insect Tribal! Now what are your opinions? Thanks guys and happy deckbuilding!

Soliders have Preeminent Captain as well. That's purdy cool, although there aren't really too many cards that take advantage of it.

That's what I was thinking slovakattack. There is that 2/2 flying doublestrike, and he's pretty good when paired with an Obelisk of Urd.

Warriors is probably the strongest right now IMO. They have solid one drops in Bloodsoaked Champion and Tormented Hero, good two drops with Chief of the Edge, Chief of the Scale, and Seeker of the Way, and can be easily sustained using Athreos, God of Passage and Sorin, Solemn Visitor to top off the curve. Also, all of the warriors can be hit with Return to the Ranks, so suicidal charging is a valid option. Then all it needs is some combat tricks to kill those pesky Siege Rhinos.

Minotaur is the strongest tribe currently imo, but it usually kills faster than obilesk can help.

I honestly thought about running this in a devotion to green. If I already have a Hornet Queen out then I'll choose hornets. Boom all my fliers are 3/3 and deathtouch. Pretty tough to get around. If not, then Hydras is always a solid option to buff up Genesis, Broodmaster, and Polukranos

OP_Magikarp: That's what I was going to go with, I feel it is actually very powerful. Hornet Nest + Hornet Queen is already good, then you run Obelisk of Urd. Just remember, you're naming Insect. Not Hornet ;)

Tribal Aurochs, is is so powerful that they haven't printed more than 4 creatures with that type. This is out of fear that they would take over the vintage met.

Warriors have lords. So warriors. Aggro tribal decks kind of need lords to be considered tribal imo, otherwise its just a bunch of creatures that happen to also share a creature type.

Lhurgoyf tribal for legacy and modern. obviously the modern isnt as good tho however equally as effective

for standard i would also say warriors. Dalektable is right that you need lords to make a tribe a tribe, and not just a bunch of similar creatures. but dragons will probably have lords coming in the next couple sets.

I'd have to agree with anyone that said warriors. So many support cards at the moment for warrior tribal and you can make a relatively inexpensive decent deck with the current cards.

i think morph tribal is the strongest. Running a simic base for Secret Plans and Trail of Mystery. Creatures like Pine Walker and Kheru Spellsnatcher for some extra buff if they flip up, not to mention Ghostfire Blade for your colorless morphs :D the rest of the deck can pretty much be counter spells and removal and boom, tribal deck.

morph isn't a tribe, those cards are just giving advantages for face down creatures to try and support the players that want to use morph mechanics.

Warriors or Goblins would be the most powerful "tribe" in standard right now. Chief of the Edge and Goblin Rabblemaster are the main cards in their respective decks.

soldiers have great 1 drops like Soldier of the Pantheon and the most potential for a turn 3 obelisk 1 drop into double 1 drop or raise the alarm convoke obelisk

There also incentives for going low end or high end midrangey if that is what you wnat in elspeth. I would recommend w/b soldiers forthings like Ulcerate and Sorin, Solemn Visitor
