To my knowledge, tere is no Farseek in M14 spoiled as of yet. If they don't give us Farseek , how will our midrange decks be affected? A T2 farseek is the cornerstone of a lot: Jund, Bant, Naya. What's a ramper to do?
mystic elves and there is room for Nature's Lore , and Zhur-Taa Druid , Deathrite Shaman (if there is a 'fetchland' in m14). Progenitor Mimic and Mutavault , Finally Maze's End and guildgates.

I doubt that Nature's Lore will be reprinted, but it's possible. Wizards is trying to slow Standard down a bit, and Nature's Lore is far more conducive to fast ramp decks than to a slower environment.
Progenitor Mimic is far too unwieldy to even be considered a ramp card.
Maze's End is slow and very inefficient.
Each core set brings some kind of ramp spell, so there will be something that can theoretically fill Farseek 's place. However, it remains to be seen whether that spell (or those spells) will be Farseek or as effective as Farseek . As I said, Wizards wants to slow Standard down a bit, so I wouldn't count on something mind-blowing.

Farseek is a nice card for ramp strategies, i hope they reprint it.

They could give us Explore which could push Maze's End decks closer to being competitive while giving midrange players a ramp spell that is good late game, but makes 2 land hands riskier than with Farseek thus often resulting in a slower game.

They did spoil a sorcery called Lay of the Land, where you search for a basic land and put it in your hand. I think that might be M14's version of Farseek , and would align with slowing the game down.

The one thing that caught my attention recently is the recent rules change for playing "extra lands".
Although there was already reason to change it, due to the broken nature of a few synergies... it still makes me think there may be something coming that required this change. - Something along the lines of Explore , or other such effect may be coming (I would assume in Theros, if it does)... but that's just my wild speculation, and a little bit of wishful thinking.

Rayenous it'll probably be another legendary creature that lets you play extra lands.

How is taking away Farseek gonig to "slow things down"? The meta is already FILLED with aggro decks which IMO are the faster games.
They SHOULD reprint Farseek for mana fixing or else everyone will be mad at finally getting their playsets of the "shocklands"

i am going to come down on the other side of this and say they should not reprint farseek. they should not reprint fetch lands until after RTR rotates out.
this almost perfect mana base needs to go away for a little while, i want to see three color decks become the exception not the normal, i want to see four color decks being the dark horse in the room, not the copy paste net deck of the week.
i know i am in the minority in this...but i just want a change in the standard land scape,

Can someone simplify this land rule change for me, because I don't see what is going on right now that will be prevented by the change in the rule.

M14 has not yet been fully spoiled, and, even if it is not printed in M14, Farseek will be legal in Standard until Theros releases in September.
A lot can change in Standard in that period of time, so the best we can do right now is try to estimate what might happen with the cards we know are or will become available.
