I wouldn't mind seeing a reprint of the Onslaught fetches for Modern, but I certainly would expect to see them in Standard with the shock lands being legal at the moment.

If I remember correctly wizards wanted to slow down the format fetch lands will instead speed it up so don't expect to see them any time soon.

Indeed they did, Snowstorm. That's why Theros was set up and themed to be heavy on mono-colored decks, since they tend to run slower. Not to mention that DGM on the whole felt slower than the rest of the block.

The rumour is (from a guy who spoiled a lot of theros cards before they were released anywehre else) that they are in the next block after Theros. And due to what Maro said, it would be a full 10 card cycle.

After the Shocks rotate out, I'd say it's a realistic possibility that the Fetches could be reprinted. Without Shocks they can only fetch basics, at least in the current standard. They'd basically be a fairly bad mana fixer- you'd pay 1 life to get one of two basic lands, so most dual lands are better in the situation - unless combined with some kind of Landfall-type ability. They definitely wouldn't be too powerful.

Yeh they'll come back after shocks rotate, most probably.

It's possible the 2 land cycles in standard now are both way to powerful/odd with fetch lands, maybe we'll see some in a half a decade.
