How did you all do?

I came 2nd seed then was knocked out in the first game of top 8

I piloted a Abzan-Deck today which I never played before. I ended up 2-2 with two really stupid losses (if the one loss had gone one round further, I'd gone to 2-1-1, but oh well) and that placed me 9 out of 14. We don't play a Playoff in the Top 8 (Sadly!) so it doesn't really matter, apart from that second promo card.

Tomorrow I think I'll go Temur and we'll see how that works out.

1-3

If I had won the last one I would've got into top8. Played against R/W Token though which was a very bad matchup for me. The scores were pretty close aside from the top 3. One guy on Jeskai Token didn't lose a single game, second place 1 loss and third 1 loss and 1 tie. Overall considering I started 1 month before FRF Release I did ok.

Our game day was won 4-0 by a dude who played a 8-UW Heroic. It's pretty retarded when I'm sitting there with the deck I've borrowed from a teammate and it's worth 300 and I go 1-2 against him. I was heavily unlucky, but still... damn it must feel good to get that playmat with a 8 deck.

What does 8 deck mean?

It's weird, this page keeps eating my Euro-Signs I type.
The dude played a 8-Euro UW Heroic. And behind the 300, there was a Euro-Sign, too.

Money doesn't mean anything. A cheap deck is good if other decks are not prepared.

Especially UW Heroic will stomp with consistent turn 4-5 kills if the players don't prepare against it. The first 1-2 turns are the most important against this deck. As soon as you see a creature you should play removal against it while your opponent is on low mana. When you hit turn 4-5 you won't get a chance to remove anything of importance anymore, because there's enough mana for protection plus turn 4-5 you can be dead already.

Like any aggro deck you need to stop it early and not be afraid of protection they have. If they have it they got it, there's no way for you to play around it so just play it. Chances are they don't have protection in hand and you basically win with just that.

1 - 3

I played Constellation and ran into Jeskai Tempo, Jeskai Tokens and W/U Heroic.

Meanwhile the entire rest of the Room kept rhino'ing all day, it was a bit frustrating.

Went 4-1 in the swiss only losing against my buddy in the mirror then lost the first game of top8 to mana flood in 2 games of the 3.

Was on Jeskai prowess/midrang. My buddy won it all with the same deck

So, today was awesome! I played The Song of Ice and Fire and went 3-1, losing only to a U/W Heroic by 1:2. I had so much fun today and went to place 2. I hated that there was no contest on the top placements, three people were 3-1 and I didn't get the mat because of the Opponent's Score. I don't care about the mat though, I'd just loved to win the Game Day. But my price booster had a fetch land in it, so I got that for me. I'm happy!

Got completely destroyed by two Green devotion decks. Annoyingly lost against Mardu Aggro after a mulligan to 5 first game and mulligan to 6 second game... Only won against a mono-red deck and the player made several mistakes (both deckbuilding and play). I play Sidisi Whip Btw.

Badddd day

EssTea : Oh man, losing to Green Devotion sucks with Sidisi Whip, I'd actually see you favoured there. How come you lost? They simply went bonkers too fast?

Well Sidisi and green devo play out kind of the same, they both produce an enormous stalled board state. First game I got wrecked by polukranos who went monstrous for 14 mana. Second game I lost to Ugin -0 killing 8 insect tokens.

I came first overall with my Mardu Midrange deck. I played against: UW heroic, Mono Red Burn, Abzan Aggro, and lastly Mono Green Devotion.

I feel like my deck has pretty good match ups against most decks right now. My weakest matchup is probably against control if I dont get a fast opening hand.

Funny story though, in the last game of the final round to win overall my opening hand was 3 lands, two goblin rabblemaster, and two hordling outburst. I drew into wild slash and lightning strike. I won with a huge amount of goblins on the board it was awsome.

Another game I cast hordling outburst on T3 then drew into 3 butcher of the horde. I just saced goblins each turn for the next 3 turns and swung in the air for a ton of damage.

It was a confusing weekend for Magic and the THS-KTK-M15 Enchantress Whip deck.

  • After a 4-0 finish at the previous week's FNM, I went 3-2 last Friday night, winning against 2 Abzan decks and a no-show opponent and losing to UB Control and RG Monsters.

  • On Saturday's Game Day I won against an odd RW Aggro deck, drew against a RW tokens player who wasn't used to the deck and was playing slow as hell (he ended up in first, go figure), lost to the same RG Monsters from FNM, and drew again (!) against an opponent who was also playing a BG Whip deck. Yes, that's 1-1-2. Weird stuff.

  • On Sunday's Game Day I stomped through the field 4-0, winning against UB Control, Mardu Midrange, Mardu Control, and Mono-Black Aggro. Again, weird stuff.
