So you guys, Gatecrash is coming out in about a month and the meta is all but guaranteed to change. But right now the top decks are mostly shards, like Bant, Jund, Naya, Junk and then there is the two colors B/R, G/W, and B/R. What color combination do you guys thing is going to get the most support and what combo will you be playing. I personally will be playing a boros deck. Feel free to check it out! Gatecrash Boros

I feel like Boros will be a serious competitor for top slot and Naya is about to become tougher to put down. Just looking at the powerhouse decks people are already playing with Hellkites and angels... adding an aggressive R/W guild to the stack just reinforces the strategies that are already winning. Double if Boros can take advantage of blinking at all. I suppose the same could be said for Gruul, though I don't hear anybody talking about the Clans. But I hear everybody talking about Boros.

That's true for my area, anyway. Control, re-animator... other stuff might be common elsewhere but where I'm at it's mostly big and stompy.

I'm going to he pre-release twice; once for Houe Dimir and once for Boros Legion. I'll decide after that.

Also what guild do you guys think has the best mechanical, flavorfully, competitively, and most fun?

I think BRW would be up there- Boros has cheap burn and lifegain while orzhov has more lifedrain as well as token production, crucial for battalion. If Extort would be good, it would definitely be in this deck from the many burn and spells. Finally, we all know how aggressive Rakdos is already.

I think dimir might surprise a few people with its ability thinking dodgy cards like Invisible Stalker with cards like Dreadbore

I feel like Bug will see some good support but there is no denying that Oros will get some cards too. Grixis and Junk won't see as much as both deck types have two guilds already in standard so they only get one guild as support but for the mechanic grixis has the advantage with cipher and the already good mechanics we have and Junk will get extort which is decent but it doesn't have as much potential as cipher.

Depending on the rest of the cipher cards, I am considering playing either an esper control/ midrange deck or a BUG control/ midrange deck. I think that Invisible Stalker is all but going to break cipher in half with a stick if wizards wasn't careful with the design of its cards. If powerhouse cipher cards don't show up I am going to start off playing g/r deck focused around Predator Ooze so I don't get my face beat in by all the other hyper aggressive decks out there.

With the rest of the shocklands entering Standard again, I'm curious to see how fast basic lands in three-color decks become old news.

I made sure I had four copies of Invisible Stalker as soon as I read about Cipher.

@ doclawless, decks will still run basic lands because Ghost Quarter will punish you severely if you don't.
