Going Bonkers for Skulk

It's a good thing Pale Rider of Trostad has Skulk. No longer do I fear attacking when I know Archangel Avacyn Flip is lurking. She'll give all her weenies indestructible and my Skulker will die. But at least it has Skulk.
I'm loving how Uninvited Geist Flip has the new inferior Skulk and transforms into what's always been around--unblockable. Makes a lot of sense. Especially, when Standard is filled with tokens.
In fact, I'm loving this Skulk ability so much I think I'll make a crazy combo with Odric, Lunarch Marshal! Now ALL my white guys can have Skulk. Watch out token meta!
Even better yet they printed all these great pump-up abilities. So now your Rancid Rats can possibly get through and then, boom! Take 4 with Titan's Strength. Then scry for another Skulk creature. Can someone say "broken"?
Magic players around the world cheer and whistle in their excitement for Skulk.

As a green player at heart that likes ramping into giant creatures: I do not approve Skulk. :c

I'll tell you one place where Skeleton Key and Behind the Scenes belong: Doran, the Siege Tower EDH/tiny leaders/constructed.
My guy has 0 power but still hits your ass for 5. Good times.
Especially useful with Skinshifter.

I mean, at least it has it's place in limited. You could do far worse. Looks at cipher...

Yeah skulk is not good as a keyword in my opinion. Yet another hard to be blocked mechanic? Yawn boring. Especially when you think about how it can easily be mistaken for other similar abilities:
- Can't be blocked by creatures with power greater than this creature's power
- Can't be blocked by creatures with power less than this creature's power
- Can't be blocked by creatures with toughness greater than this creature's power
- Can't be blocked by creatures with toughness less than this creature's power
- Can't be blocked by creatures with power greater than this creature's toughness
- Can't be blocked by creatures with power less than this creature's toughness
- Can't be blocked by creatures with toughness greater than this creature's toughness
- Can't be blocked by creatures with toughness less than this creature's toughness
- Can't be blocked by creatures with power greater than or equal to this creature's power
- Can't be blocked by creatures with power less than or equal to this creature's power
- Can't be blocked by creatures with toughness greater than or equal to this creature's power
- Can't be blocked by creatures with toughness less than or equal to this creature's power
- Can't be blocked by creatures with power greater than or equal to this creature's toughness
- Can't be blocked by creatures with power less than or equal to this creature's toughness
- Can't be blocked by creatures with toughness greater than or equal to this creature's toughness
- Can't be blocked by creatures with toughness less than or equal to this creature's toughness
Can't exactly confuse flying like that. Menace could be confused in a similar way, but nowhere nearly as badly. (It can't be blocked by more... or was it less... than two creatures?)
Less is more WotC!

The Gitrog Monster should have Skulk. Cuz who needs deathtouch on a 6/6 body?
I'm so sick of opponents not attacking with Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger and just blocking my Gitrog. Sometimes I just don't understand these cards.

A lot of them are just for flavor reasons. Not every card needs to be a constructed allstar, man.
Also, I really feel like this isn't the right section for this thread.

Rumor is there a new ability coming: Second Strike. No, not first strike or double strike. Your opponent's creature deals damage first. Then yours.
Now The Gitrog Monster can't get out of control when attacking into Dragonlord Atarka. Atarka's gonna whack him first.
But it will be widely known this is purely for limited with some flavoring to it. But I think the ability just sucks, period.

Correct, an ability that is purely negative sucks and isn't really something WotC would design for limited because it is purely negative. Skulk is an ability for your smaller creature to get past their 4/4 while you chump block so you can close out a game rather than just dying. Meanwhile, an ability like Deathtouch on the GIANT POISONOUS TOAD isn't all that useful, but it makes sense for flavor.

Skulk is terrible in constructed, great in limited which is what wizards primarily designs for. Period.

The Gitrog Monster was my favorite guy in Shadows. After I played him he turned out to be a big dumb idiot, mostly. Islandwalk would of been relevant. He's a frog. No problem trespassing in water. :)
Too bad Skulk isn't equal to or power greater unblockable. That would be something to consider.
I'm going to write a letter to Hasbro's Human Resources. Taking it strait to the source.

I mean, it's not really designed for constructed. It's very much meant as a way for little creatures to get through a wall of meat in limited in a way they can keep printing at common as an evergreen keyword.
