I believe these two cards are likely to see alot of play in upcoming standard burn type decks. What are your thoughts? I tend to think that now would be the time to get your hands on these two..
Soulfire Grand Master
Monastery Mentor

Yeah, they are both set to be expensive and played a lot.

I'd expect to see mentor break into some eternal formats so his price could hold for a little while.
Some pros out there are going to break him and when they do I want to make sure I have a set lol

Yea gonna pick up play sets of both when the price is right. I really like the prowess mechanic.

I've playtested just a Cantrip U/W Prowess with Mentor and Artisan of Forms and it's almost impossible to race against if Mentor sticks.
He demands removal immediately otherwise it's just outta hand.

If you want to discuss the impact of a card in a particular format, you should post in that format's forum (just for future reference).
Anyway, idk about burn necessarily, but I think the mentor will have a huge impact in many potential archetypes. As faar as the garnd master goes, I really don't see him being played that much. I feel like he is being heavily overestimated. don't get me wrong, he is a great card, but he seems slow to be effective, and the decks that are good against burn don't really care about the lifegain when they have Whip of Erebos, Siege Rhino, etc

SRS is for discussing unreleased or potential future cards. It is not for discussing formats. Moved.

Monastery Mentor will see a bit of play, I think. Though finding a balance between him and Rabblemaster in R/W Aggro or Jeskai Tokens will be a challenge.
