Green Ramp - Live or Die?

Standard forum

Hello,

I'm playing a RBW control deck in standard, and there is a lot of green ramp in my local meta. I run a ton of removal between Devour Flesh , Dreadbore , Hero's Downfall , Anger of the Gods , and Mizzium Mortars . I'm having a hard time determining whether I should be going after an opponent's ramp or saving my kill spells for when the threats come out. With spells like Devour Flesh , it's obvious to go after them because you won't have the choice when another creature comes out later, but what about a mortars or Dreadbore?

What strategies are working for people? Does slowing down an RG Monsters deck help that much, or just bide your time and save your spells for Polukranos, World Eater and Stormbreath Dragon ?

Thanks in advance for your feedback, and hopefully I didn't post this on the wrong forum.

Always kill Elvish Mystic on turn 2 if you can. If you miss that window then forget him and save the removal for the big threats.

Yeah, that's my thought because they've quite possibly kept that hand short on land thinking that Mystic will propel their hands onto the field. Missing land drops = awesome for me!

if you have more removal than they have mana dorks, sure. If you would run out after killing them, no.
