Which guild champions from Dragon's Maze do you think will see play in standard? Where do you think they for, also?
My personal prediction is that we will be seeing the Golgari, Boros, and Azorius champs played immediately in some decks. I think once the meta slows down we will see the Selesnya champ seeing some action in token populate decks. I personally would like to use the Simic champ to I crease the power of my Gavony Townships and make Prime Peaker a much larger force but only play testing will tell. What do you all see?
Completely unrelated...I think Deputy of Aquittals will make Yeva viable for Bant decks so we can flash back our creatures and play them again on our opponents turn.

The Golgari champion will see play in every format but vintage. Calling it now.

IDK, a bant counters with Vorel of the Hull Clade and Gideon, Champion of Justice seems like fun and playable, but will it be consistent... I'll play test over the next few weeks to see.

however, he indicates artifact, creature, or land.....does that mean you have to activate this ability when gideon is using his -0 ability?

Yes, you could only use Vorel on Gidon when he's in creature mode.

I feel that Ruric would be problematic in Jund where half their deck is spells. I foresee Sire of Insanity being Side-board material for the Esper Matchup though.... I don't play Naya so no comment there ;)

I think the only ones to see serious play will be Exava (after Falkenrath Aristocrat and Hellrider rotate), and maybe Varolz and Ruric Thar.

Tajic, Blade of the Legion and Lavinia of the Tenth will probably see hella play early but may drop off as the standard season goes on.

I foresee Teysa, Envoy of Ghosts seeing play if not in Std, than in Modern or EDH I mean she's such a whore card with very nice artwork to boot! ahaha

Why wouldn't Vorel see play? Drop prime speaker...draw off something like ThrAgtusk. End of opponents turn you can double her and the. Again on you're turn after which you overload a rift and swing for 16 with just zegana. It's not unlikely...I did it last night. Twice

Varolz, the Scar-Striped will see a lot of play. For 3 mana, you can scavenge all of your creatures. Imagine him being played in Modern with Death's Shadow . I'd gladly scavenge 13 counters for 1 black mana.

Ruric Thar, the Unbowed is a monstrous closer for Naya decks. I see him getting play for a long time. It's just a big F-U to control decks.

Tajic, Blade of the Legion will be seeing play in a lot of decks. He is Easyily splashed into anything that contains R or W, so my naya zoo just got another beater.

@ capriom85 Tajic, Blade of the Legion is not a hybrid, you'd have to splash both red and white, which may not be viable.
I think all the guild champs are playable, except the selesnya, she's useless.

And for all that she is not a Standard-playable card, Emmara Tandris has a home in every EDH deck that has ever cried gently in the face of Pyroclasm , Flame Wave and friends.

The selesnya champ will never see play.. ever... Not even in limited. The rakdos champion will see play after rotation, so will the golgari one.
