The damage guttersnipe deals from his ability, does that count as combat damage? if so I have a rather evil combo in mind

Actually, combat damage is any damage assigned and dealt by attacking or blocking creatures during the turn-based actions of a combat damage step.
Damage from abilities can never be considered combat damage.
Also, questions like this are best asked in the Q&A.

That's fair enough. We just try to keep questions pertaining to card rulings and interactions in the Q&A because it cleans everything up. We have several rules gurus who frequent the Q&A and will help you fairly quickly whenever you ask a question.

no it does not. combat damage is only dealt by "attacking" creatures during the ?Damage step? (im not really sure what its called but yea.) all other damage is just damage.
