I am considered to be fairly new to Magic. (started last April) And i have been absorbed by the Aggro meta since i started playing. but i would like to learn to play control; i have tried several times to build control decks but they dont feel good enough or synergetic enough.
So tell me..... what does a good control deck consist of? how would you play it? How important is synergy in a control deck?
thank you, for reading/commenting
Standard for Sure. And also, I love the card Isperia, Supreme Judge , i was thinking American Control would be fun as well.

Would Midrange Work well in a control deck? sort of as a subtheme?

Control tends to not be midrange unless you're talking about tribal control in Modern or Legacy. Usually, Standard control decks focus on heavy denial in the first five turns, then drop their own threats and start fighting back.

You should check out some of the decklists on SCG's website. They keep an updated list of all top-placing decks across multiple formats.

I'm an admin and the most active user on the site. I'm usually posting in the Q&A or moving threads to the appropriate forums, but I do a lot with EDH and trading as well.

If you want to get into control I suggest you have a fair budget built up. One of the key elements to control is Snapcaster Mage because he enables a control player get more value out of their kill/counter spells.
Whatever you do, start with the colors then build the land base. Once you have a land base you can add the Snapcaster Mage and other counter/kill spells. Then you have to choose a beater. Something that can finish the game for you in a few swings. Griselbrand is one of my favorites but lots of people find their own "best finisher". (Angel of Serenity is another common one.)

You should also assess your meta and design accordingly. For example, if your LGS is packed with artifacts and enchantments, don't design a UB control deck because those colors aren't equipped to deal with those threats. If there are a ton of hexproof threats, go with white for sweepers like Supreme Verdict or red for sweepers like Mizzium Mortars .

Esper (White/Black/Blue) will cover most of the bases MOST of the time but having access to Red could be argued instead of White because you still get "sweepers" and it's geared more towards artifact hate. White=Enchantment hate Red=Artifact hate Green=Both, they DO cross over every now and then but not recently.
Personally I hate playing control (ADHD makes it so I don't have the attention span for long drawn out matches when it comes to constructed). However, you really should find out for yourself how to play it so you know the elements of it.

The Wizard believes if you play standard thy should not forget Dreadbore and Abrupt Decay if they decides to not play blue and white tomes.

Are you talking about a specific format or in general?
There are tons of different kinds of control decks. Do you have any specifics at all? It's fine if you don't, but we can narrow the scope of this question if you do.
