ok so i have a 8/8 then boosted him to a 14/14 trample with revenge of the hunted and attack my oppennt who has to block with everyone he has 2 boros reckoners 1 guttersnipe and a young pyromancer what happens?because both reckoners blocked can he direct 28 damage to me?

So the trample makes this a little easier actually.

You'll assign the order of which damage will be assigned, and then you assign a lethal amount of damage to each creature before assigning the leftover trampling damage to your opponent.

In this case, you'd deal 3 to the 1st reckoner, 3 to the 2nd reckoner, 2 to the guttersnipe, 1 to the pyromancer, and then 5 to your opponent.

Your opponent can redirect 6 damage (3 from each reckoner) to either you or a creature(s) of his or her choice.

Questions like this should be asked in the Q&A.

no you will take only 6 because trample can makes you only need to deal leathal damage to each.

2 reckoners take 6 total guttersnipe 2 and pyromancer 1

reulting in 19 damage to you opponent and 6 to you or anything on your field if there not dead yet.

@Sagi007: Your math is suspect.

Related question: could you choose to split all of your creature's combat damage between the guttersnipe and the young pyromancer? I know you could if your attacker didn't have trample, just wondering if you're still allowed to assign more than lethal combat damage to a blocker when your attacker has trample.

I believe technically yes, but you would deal no damage to your opponent, and you'd have to declare your damage assignment order with the reckoners last, not first.

The most you could take is 14 the least you could take is 6. (assuming the reckoners target you)

You must do at least lethal damage to each blocker in order, and then because you have trample you may then deal any leftover damage to your opponent.

The best choice here would be to deal exactly lethal damage to all your opponents creatures and then 5 to him, taking 6 yourself. Although had you wanted to, for whatever bizarre reason to do as much damage to the reckoners as possible, then you could deal all of your damage to them say 7 a piece or 14 to the first in line and take 14 points of damage in return.

This is of course wouldn't be at all a good idea.

Correction the least you could take is zero if you don't deal the reckoners any damage at all.

Does anyone actually declare damage assignment order, prior to the damage being dealt?

Well, if it matters to either side of the table, they'll usually ask for it to be declared. The difference between the damage assignment order and the damage assignment step is almost always ignored, but the time in between them is a good place for combat tricks; just cast Giant Growth or whatever on the first in line and you could have none of your creatures die, depending on the situation. They'll have to assign much more damage to the first creature, either saving it or the ones in line behind it.
