What cards are out there right now that I can put in a Rakdos deck that grant hex proof?

Im thinking artifacts of some sort?

Or is there even a thing?

Hexproof is not a Rakdos-aligned mechanic. It's mostly green. Artifacts that you would use are too impractical for Standard.

Why do you even need hexproof in Rakdos?

Horror of the Dim seem to be the only red/black creature that can gain hexproof by himself... but it need blue...

then there are cards like Cairn Wanderer ...

if your looking for sumthing that are just hard to kill... then you might want to look @ things like Darksteel Myr

there are 3 (if i remember correct) equips that give hexproof... Mask of Avacyn , Ring of Evos Isle , Swiftfoot Boots and Champion's Helm ...

and then there is shroud: Cloak and Dagger , Lightning Greaves , Whispersilk Cloak

thats what i can remember of the top of my head...

I still think the bigger question is "why is hexproof necessary in Rakdos?" Generally speaking, RB gives the least thought of any bicolor combination to protection. RB doesn't care if it loses creatures; creatures are expendable. RB rarely plays enormous creatures that need to be protected because it's focused on an aggressive attack with smaller, cheaper, more replaceable creatures.

With that background, hexproof is, for the most part, unnecessary in RB because it's just a waste of resources. Instead of spending mana to play an equipment card, then spending more mana and time to equip it, you could just play another creature. The creature would be more useful, anyway.

Granted, this is all generalization. There are exceptions, but I don't naturally come to the conclusion that RB needs hexproof. Is there a specific deck or at least a reason this is being considered? I've also kind of been assuming that this is a 60-card Standard or maybe Modern deck. EDH is another story entirely.

@Dirt3pz: Cairn Wanderer doesn't gain hexproof though.

@rakdosrunner: Why do you ask for hexproof specifically?

Hexproof is definitely not alligned with Rakdos, you might be better of going for another mechanic that will protect your creatures better.

Although since this is in the Standard forum, I was perhaps justified when I first thought of a Rakdos Cackler sporting a Mask of Avacyn .

Well my problem is everyone at my tournaments run control decks. So i'll throw a creature out and its countered, then another countered. They'll keep drawing cards throwing creatures and countering so it makes it impossible to win.

It's very frustration because my aggro/burn deck was placing top 5 every night EASY and now everyone is running everything to stop it and I need a deck revamp.

If having your creatures countered are a problem, then you don't need Hexproof at all.

As Apoptosis suggested, Cavern of Souls is your best bet against counter heavy decks.

Just looked at the price of Cavern of Souls , depressing how much it's come down.

Hexproof does nothing to protect spells. It's a waste of resources if you're trying to beat counters.

Also, if your aggro/burn deck is being defeated by counterspells, then it's not very good at the aggro bit.
