Hidden strings just gets better and better...

It seems like WotC is pulling hidden puppet strings (excuse my terrible puns) to make Hidden Strings better and better.

I mean seriously, heroic was one thing, but now inspired too? Arbiter of the Ideal can now get tapped without attacking, as can Pain Seer , and all your other favorite inspired cards.

In my honest opinion, Hidden Strings has become a certain Burning-Tree Emissary . I can just imagine T1 Tormented Hero , t2- 4x hidden strings untapping lands or tapping blockers and ciphering. Use the copies to untap more lands and trigger heroic, then cast Pain Seer or something. Now you can trigger Pain Seer several times a turn. Want removal? Agent of the Fates can sacrifice an entire board. Draw power? Look no further than Triton Fortune Hunter . This may not be great for a rare, but for a COMMON? This is ridiculous. Gary caliber.

I'm sorry for this rant, I just thought it had to be said. Thoughts?

I am not sure if it works for Heroic since when it's ciphered it's a copy of a card...

Cipher doesn't trigger heroic, but when you recast it, it is two heroic/ inspired triggers.

When you cipher it, it's a copy. I don't know haha if it works, then it's great.

You still get to cast the copy, which counts as a spell. Regardless, it is still an inspired outlet.

It's certainly a nice card. Reminds me a bit of how good Young Pyromancer really is.

So... Grixis Tempo? Young Pyromancer , Nivmagus Elemental , Hidden Strings , Pain Seer , Agent of the Fates , Siren of the Silent Song , burn spells and removal?

it worked out great. I am testing right now without them but seriously thinking about putting them back in.

If you cipher Hidden Strings to Guttersnipe does it trig him? AND also enabling him to recast it because it is ciphered to him?

@Enlightened_Jedi Casting the initial spell will trigger Guttersnipe . Ciphering it onto a card wont. Guttersnipe 's ability will not trigger Hidden Strings because Cipher specifies combat damage. You may attack with Guttersnipe that has been encoded by the cipher though. Then you would be able to trigger the ability.
