Hour of Eternity

So how do we break this card in Standard?

And by break... I mean get value. Not dominate the game.

My first thought was Hour of Eternity + Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger

If played out correctly I think that's a turn 5 4/4 Indestructible Zombie that can exile the top 20... but honestly at that point we may as well just be ramping into a hardcast...

Hm. Yeah...Ulamog doesn't seem like the right choice here. Neither do most Eldrazi. Maybe Cultivator of Blades in a UGx...aggro deck?

I'm imagining something akin to UWx Flash, with lots of abusable ETB effects on small evasive bodies. Spire Patrol and Cloudblazer, for starters, with lots of self-mill like Contingency Plan, Wharf Infiltrator, and perhaps some green acceleration. Then cast creatures as normal, letting them die to the ravages of combat and exhausting your opponent's resources. Then follow up by getting an Eternal Cloudblazer and an Eternal Spire Patrol, which are now 4/4 in the air with good ETB effects.

Think you're on the right track with self mill. Reflector Mage could be a thing if you wanna splash white, though black is probably the better choice. Cycling creatures to the yard maybe? Sounds like it could be fun, be sure to post the list if you make one.

Reflector mage is banned in standard. But I do agree that creatures with etbs or on attack triggers work best. Along with the self mill

Contingency Plan, Strategic Planning, Crawling Sensation, Crop Sigil, Winds of Rebuke and Kiora, Master of the Depths are all cards that could slide in and help set up the play.

obviously this card is great for targets with high impact I beleive your onto something with ulamog, there obviously with casting cost X we want a deck with high mana resources which leaves us with either ramp or control I think ramp is better in standard right now since control doesn't really wanna play any creatures we would want to eternity back anyway, you could go with standard G/U ramp shell it's fringe but it works personally I 'd go with Bant delerium a deck that Roman Fusco piloted to a top at scg roanoke it's very fun very controlling and has the potential to make very good use of Hour of eternity

I use it in my zombie mill deck. I mill myself along with casting a cpl creature, then I clear board with bontus last reconing, Then use your hour of eternity start bringing those 4/4 zambinoes back while they have Nathan! Use unsummom to help with control to not get punched earl.I also like it with torrential gear hulk. To get a 4/4 that cast a free instant or sorcery again is Great! I also use Gisa and geralf.

I'm going with gnarlwood dryad or grim flayer with mettalic mimic naming zombies making the dryad and grim flayer 7/7 if you have delirium also running mausoleum wandere and rest counters or removal
